The papers were reporting that Clyne's contract is 90k a week. That sounds about right in that 1) It's what I think Liverpool would pay and 2) We would never pay it.
Why oh why would you only put Delph's buy-out clause at 8 million? Villa have shot themselves there.
Maybe he wouldn't sign a new deal if it was higher?

At this stage is there really any point in lying. You are not going to Man City for football opportunities, you're going for the money.
I think what he is trying to say was that it was a tough decision...upsetting for the Villa fans (especially as they know doubt felt smug for a few days) but at least he didn't just leave skid marks. I suppose he is their Lallana...but as we have found, you just have to move on.
