Disgusting. I hope the people involved are caught.
Can I just say that as great/funny Palace winning today was I would like to wish Gerrard luck over in the states and im sad to see him go, one of the best midfielders of the PL era and English football would certainly of been poorer without him
At the end of the day, the difference between 5th and 8th may well be very minimal, but nevertheless football fans (like politicians, and others) are often in the habit of taking statistics at face value. And that is very interesting when it comes to Spurs and how their fans may view Poch's first season. Would be a 5th place season be "an improvement on last season" and "better than Liverpool managed"? Would an 8th place finish be "an utter disaster", "a backward step for the football club", and "evidence that Poch found his level at Southampton and cannot manage any higher?"
I wish him well too, but although I think he was a very good player, I sit in the camp that thinks he was overrated as a player. Not massively, but not quite as great as a lot of people make out. The England team may even have been better if he wasn't guaranteed starter every time.
I partly agree and think he was overrated by some due to leadership qualities (much like Terry imo) However hes been absolutely inspirational for Liverpool and carried that team for years and been involved in some fantastic matches too. You could also argue that England may have been better if we had built our midfield around him instead of shunting him out on the left (Sven).
