Lol @ Stoke. 2nd best defence in the league.....but can't score themselves. Might get me some cheap defenders for my Fantasy team :)

Full tables aren't what they used to be, when they used to tell how many goals were conceded Home & Away separately, but anyhow, have a good gaze at how those around us are doing:

We are scoring very well and defending brilliantly.

Wow Aston Villa just 4 goals and 6th yet Everton 12 goals and 14th. Just shows how much a defence can cost you no matter how many you score.

And yet the second best defence is Stoke and they are 4th from bottom. It just shows how not scoring can cost you no matter how good the defence.:emoticon-0117-talki

Sorry Des couldn't resist it. You are, of course, correct.

But if Stoke win tonight they will shoot up the table.

In a lot of jobs being ignored by the boss is a bonus. In my last job, I used to hear people moan that the manager was hardly seen and never spoke to them. I used to say: Are you mad? That's the best manager to have. If he could forget my name and my very existence, I would have been in pig heaven :)

I like my boss.

David Moyes, Neil Lennon, Steve Bruce, Tony Pulis. Although if Ashley wants to get the fans back onside, at least in the short term, then Chris Hughton might be worth a shot. I don't think the Newcastle fans wanted him sacked in the first place.

Paul Walsh (on Sky) has said that Spurs may find it hard even to make the top 6. Doesn't rate Mauricio...as he said, Southampton had good players when he arrived and he had little influence on that.

Didn't know I liked Paul Walsh so much..!?! :)

No, in all honesty,, Pochypoos took the team and made a difference within 24 hours. I know the team played brilliantly for Nigel during the Chelsea 2-2, but the difference when Everton came calling was evident. Mind you, that ended 0-0, and showed the weakness in MPs tactic that if you win the ball very high, as he always wanted us to, the pitch was compressed and there was very little space in which to create anything. Only players of the very highest technical ability could make regular use of such tiny spaces, whereas Saints used to run out of ideas all too often.

Now, with Koeman's selective pressing and also only pressing from the halfway line, there is much more space to create in. I thought I'd miss the MoPo ultra high press, but I'm not. Not a bit of it.

Question is would those guys take the job. Ashley has a bad reputation as a control freak so some of those guys might be worried they'll damage their careers while their hands are tied by the owner.

Ashley and Pardew are mates. They go to casinos together. Pardew was going to casinos with Ashley while he was still our manager. I think it will take a lot for Ashley to sack him.

A Newcastle fan told me that Pardew owes Ashley money from gambling and so won't get sacked until he's paid it back.
