To drop out of the top 4, we'd have to lose the next 2 games and all 3 of the teams on 17 points would have to win two games.

 

Some comments off the Man U 'rivals' thread........yes we are starting to be mentioned on the 'top sides' rivals threads.......apart from Arsenal's.

So while the media are pretty certain we'll finish 7th with a sniff of 6th, it seems some other clubs' fans aren't so sure. Bookies have us odds on now for a top6 finish which I guess means that they are pretty certain we are guaranteed to be top 8 and their odds cover the chance of top6.

 

If we get 4 points out of the fixtures from Nov 30 to Dec 8 (City, Arsenal, United) I'll believe that with the right business in January we could genuinely tackle for top 4.

But right now it's still seems like just a glitch or something and all will correct itself soon.

Hope not though.

I think we are good enough, but am aware that it will be very hard for our squad to keep it up all season. However, we may be helped if teams usually at the top continue to mess up.

 

You can enjoy something yet simultaneously be realistic. I am enjoying and the performance today was equally as good as any of the other victories this season. But I'm also being realistic at the same time and even though I dislike the "we havent faced top 4 teams" from some, if we are to indeed achieve top 4 I'd like to see us beat teams like City and United as if not I would be worried (yet ecstatic) about getting into the CL. It's a reasonable issue to have. Don't get me wrong, am I gonna be flipping tables if we get top 4? Of course not but after seeing Liverpool it's hard not to have at least some reservations. Their issues are deeper than Suarez.

I just don't understand anyone who is wary of success in case it brings failure. They usually don't succeed because they fear the failure that may follow.

Not a dig at you, I just don't understand the mentality.

My view is do your bet and then deal with what that brings later.

 

Just having a listen to tonight's BBC 606 transmitted earlier. A little fact that I didn't know about - Chelsea have achieved their best ever start to a Premier League season. You know what that means, don't you..?

Another little fact just highlighted: Liverpool are 8 points behind Saints who Liverpool gave £49M to this season.

Love seeing Lovren picked out for criticism for pulling out limply. Something Saints fans and his ex girlfriends can all sympathise with.
