To drop out of the top 4, we'd have to lose the next 2 games and all 3 of the teams on 17 points would have to win two games.
I know it angers saints fans but it wont last. I do expect a good final position again for them though.
Tbf it doesn't really need to last. City, Utd and Arsenal are that inconsistent this season, and Liverpool that dire, that they could still get 4th even with a drop in form. Like Spurs managed back in 09/10 when the PL as a whole was pretty s**t after Ronaldo left and Liverpool went down the pan. This is looking like another similar season - enough teams playing badly enough that a club could sneak into the top four without a big squad or lots of money.
Maybe. Have a feeling the top 5 or 6 will break away over tge next few months.
Could well do, but I don't think any breakaway would be so strong that Saints couldn't stay with them based on their current form and the quality they've shown.
Personally I think it will be a couple of Utd, City and Arsenal who break away, leaving the other one to fight for fourth with Saints whilst West Ham and Swansea drop back a bit and fight with Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and possibly Newcastle for 6th and 7th. So a breakaway of the top five, but in pairs rather than all clubs pushing on together.
If we get 4 points out of the fixtures from Nov 30 to Dec 8 (City, Arsenal, United) I'll believe that with the right business in January we could genuinely tackle for top 4.
But right now it's still seems like just a glitch or something and all will correct itself soon.
Hope not though.
f** me, you are Mr happy tonight. Just enjoy it. First you ask us if we really want champions league and now you tell us all this is just a glitch. Seriously, enjoy the moment.
You can enjoy something yet simultaneously be realistic. I am enjoying and the performance today was equally as good as any of the other victories this season. But I'm also being realistic at the same time and even though I dislike the "we havent faced top 4 teams" from some, if we are to indeed achieve top 4 I'd like to see us beat teams like City and United as if not I would be worried (yet ecstatic) about getting into the CL. It's a reasonable issue to have. Don't get me wrong, am I gonna be flipping tables if we get top 4? Of course not but after seeing Liverpool it's hard not to have at least some reservations. Their issues are deeper than Suarez.
Your choice. I'll choose the "be happy" option![]()
I just don't understand anyone who is wary of success in case it brings failure. They usually don't succeed because they fear the failure that may follow.
Not a dig at you, I just don't understand the mentality.
My view is do your bet and then deal with what that brings later.
Redknapp, that was a clear penalty you twat.
It was debatable until you saw the angle that the ref saw, then it was nailed on.
Apart from when Liverpool concede.![]()
