I think it's one from Mourinho, Koeman and Pearson.

If Monk gets it ahead of Koeman I'll be pissed. Monk's done a good job, but Koeman's done better, as we're going to finish higher than them.

Pearson got Leicester out of a massive hole - they were staring relegation in the face at Christmas. No need to be so pedantic.

So he was good for half a season maximum, not worthy enough imo. I think Mourinho should get it, much like I completely agree with Chelsea having 7/8 players or whatever it was in the MNF team of the year. They have been the best side by some distance over the course of the season.

I don't think Mourinho should win it, yeah they've been the best team but a lot of other teams have been poor and he has the best squad by a mile, so they were expected to win the league, as soon as Fab n Costa were signed that was the title done for me.

But we weren't expected to finish top 7, Leicester weren't expected to stay up (and could still finish as high as 14th), Swansea weren't expected to be top half, paticuarly after selling Bony.

Manager of the year isn't about who's been consistent all season, otherwise you may as well give it to the champions every year. Manager of the year is about who's over achieved given expectations, squad strength, overall situation, so for me it has to be Koeman or Pearson - special mention to Monk though.

If we were giving it to the most consistent then I would like to to nominate Brenda for consistently being a source of laughs!

I agree that Pearson has done a great job on the whole, and especially in the last 2 months, but he got Leicester into the massive hole remember.

I think Koeman deserves to, and will win.

I don't think Pearson deserves it. He got his reward for winning 6 out of 8 games, by winning Manager of the month. If they win Sunday, he can have May too, but what happened in the other 29 games?

For me, this is the order:

    Mourinho
    Koeman
    Monk
    Pearson
    Wenger.

There is an argument for Koeman and I would say if we finished 5th, then definitely and if 6th/7th then still a strong case.

I agree about the comments on Mark Hughes.

Mourinho is the best manager in the league, but he does have the best team, and they have had a really good season with injuries.

Chelsea have a squad similar to Man City and Arsenal not so far away. Remember John Terry two years ago was missing games because the manager didn't think he could play them all. Mourinho thinks differently and tactically he is the best. I would not complain if he pipped Ron, though I obviously want Ron to take it.

Just not Pearson for me. Manager of the Season is about the season, not the last 8 games.

We know that now. In August, City were at least equal and Arsenal were close. He's finished a mile ahead of the others.

I'm not saying Pearson should get it, just he should be ahead of Wenger and Monk.

Fair enough, I won't argue with that. The others did fall off a bit though.

Pearson shouldn't get the award. Yes he dug them out of a hole but it was a hole he put them in. I like the bloke but this was more a case of the players finally feeling the pressure, adjusting and clicking and anyone who thinks otherwise is an ostrich.

Mourinho has done...well what Mourinho does. He pissed the league and won the League cup but he's a massively experienced manager who inherited a CL winning club and has essentially unlimited financial backing. He's been successful but its more a case of living up to potential rather than exceeding it.

Wenger has moved from 4th to 3rd

Monk has done a fantastic job. However comparing the recent parallels in ascension between us and the swans surely it would stand to reason the more successful manager out of him and Ron this season should win the award, especially considering our 'disastrous' transfer window

I think if you look at the pre-season ambitions, then either Monk or Koeman deserve it:

Chelsea - Target was to win the League: Achieved.

Arsenal - Target was to finish top 4: Achieved

Leicester - Target was to stay up: Achieved (still in bottom half)

Swansea - Target was probably top 10: Exceeded (top 8)

Saints - Predicted to be near the bottom, probably hoped for mid-table: Exceeded (top 7, could even be 5th)

Koeman and Monk have overachieved so I think they should be the front runners.

We'll have to disagree there, as I said above as soon as they signed Fab n Costa, the title was won there and then for me, and that gave them the strongest/most balanced squad. Yeah I agree about Terry, him struggling was down to AVB trying to play a high line which didn't suit him at all, I have no doubt that Mourinho could still get the best out of Gerrard as well.
