STD Stats - up to and including Round 19 (played w/e of Jan 3/4/5).

I've had to break this post into 2 parts owing to size restrictions..see post # 974 for Part 2
3 rounds (17, 18 & 19) have been played since the last "readable" summary, so this mid season report gives a recap of the winners over those 3 rounds. The YTD (STD) stats indicate there has been some movement in the various categories, although
ellewoods remains total points leader after continuing with his unique strategy of predicting 2-1 and 1-2 results only.
Edit: In an ironic twist, for some unknown reason,
ellewoods had a moment of inspiration and changed his Man City vs Sheffield Wednesday FA cup prediction to 3-1. It turned out it was the only result of all selections that round which ended 2-1 !!!!! I hear California dope is of the highest quality.
........ Trust a Yorkshire team to **** you up at your peril elle, but if it aint broke, don't fix it unless you want a Yorkshireman to catch you up.

DaviesHeadband, H3-L1 and Blak'n'Amberblood shared this week's lucrative prize with 12 points each.
Other notables were :
OLM with 11 points and
HullDavidMail with 10 points. . The rest of us can take solace with the fact that this was the FA Cup round 3 weekend, where many odds-on favourites made it easy to predict results, but not actual scores. A
significant majority had 6+ results correct, not too many (6.3 % to be specific) of all predictions submitted had correct scores. However, one lucky bastard , (
Quill was milder, just called him a prick) , a certain
TigerRoo, had the incredible foresight to predict WBA's 7-0 hammering of Gateshead. Brilliant.
I'm sure he'd have predicted the same had Gateshead had been at home to Newcastle ? On the other hand, with typical restraint,
ellewoods predicted 2-1.
Don't you just love this chaos driven, random universe we live in ?
DaviesHeadband has taken over the 5 week (5 rounds) rolling points score (44 pts).
ellewoods has held this slot for quite a while, only to have slipped to joint 4th spot along with
H3-L1 and
The French Tickler on 36 points each.
HullDavidMail (38) and
tigerscanada (37) are 2nd & 3rd respectively in this trend (trendy even) indicating stat.
Mr Hat has finally relinquished his lead in City points garnered,
Febbos now having 14

OLM with 13 and
Mr Hat tied for 3rd place with
TigerRoo &
Black'n'Amber Blood on 12 each.
In the
most prestigious category, the total STD points table, naturally "
Mr 2-1"
ellewoods still has the edge on
131 points, with that twat from Canada,
tigerscanada (127 pts) creeping closer by the week, with hot in pursuit on 120 pts each are
Sir Cheshire Ben &
JohnXAberdeen.
Our weekly points average was 8.23, compared to our worst for the season (3.89 - WK # 5) and our best (8.31 - WK # 10). Our average score per man-week played is 5.76.....we're collectively
improving, we've lost a lot of dross from the early season.
