It was Blue Heaven I was thinking of and it was never opposite Crown!!!
Crown is definitely still on the go though.
As are Ravenser and Highland Laddie.

I was always under the impression that Blue Heaven was the Crown down Marfleet lane.

No, John, Blue Heaven definitely was Southcoates Lane, set back, virtually opposite Fire Station. My old stomping ground, born and bred off Southcoates Lane.
Brill memories flooding back of local watering holes, The Reindeer, Ravenser, Highland Laddie and the very rough Blue Heaven, you had to have your wits about you! Happy days.
Saw a couple of strippers in there around '98.

Played darts many times in Blue Heaven and other pubs round there. By 1998 I was long gone out of Hull! Phew!
Last time I went in Reindeer the glass in the door was smashed and there was still blood on the floor
