Judging by the last few tournaments, Portugal like to build from the back - it gives their midfield time to kick the other team into the stands.
Place looks empty on that video. What was the crowd?
It will be interesting to see what crowd you get in Baltimore. In 2009 we sold the place out. 71203. Mind you we did a little better that year in Cali,81224.

Sitting deep and playing on the counter all the time is a fairly cheap tactic and won't work for us because teams are happy to sit back against us. The amount of times we passed it around the back against teams like Sunderland(who like a counter attack) and failed to draw them out wasted time for us and ultimately cost us points.
High lines take time to adjust to and a lot concentration, one CB needs to be constantly on the striker that's pushed up. When you mark tightly with one he has several ways of slowing the striker's run for a ball over the top on the counter or whichever other way they try to attack and the second is able to sweep as well as keep his head up longer to see where the threats are coming from. Get that mastered plus an effective offside trap, which is only really worth using when you're being attacked in numbers to take the furthest forward out of the game, especially since linesmen are rubbish in the PL.

I wouldn't say counter attacking football is a cheap tactic as it takes skill and good tactics to make it successful, plus some of the most beautiful goals come from counter attacking play.
But that isn't us playing counter attack, that was us trying to control the game in their half which we was crap at as we didn't have a clue on how to create chances when teams are packed in their own half.
Anyhow, both methods have their positives yet playing a high line is only going to work if our players learn how to create chances when teams are pushed back, and if our centre back pairing are in sync with each other and of course this will take time but I expect us to look foolish at times but that doesn't matter if the players learn the system and make it effective.

Doesn't surprise me, it was a Wednesday night game with the Galaxy's two biggest players gone for the All star game and Tottenham aren't a "big" club and won't get the draw Real Madrid, Man Utd will. Also the Home Depot Center limits attendance on week games because the stadium is next/on a college campus. Not sure if they did for this game as it's summer.
I've just been told by a work colleague that the Galaxy are halfway through their season. I know next to nothing about American soccer so if that's the case then as he said the draw is a good result for us.

Shame about your own ground though.....![]()

Yes,it's clear we do need a bigger stadium as we are one of the most supported clubs in world football now.

It is a truly sad comment on the state of the game that the status of an English club is measured on replica shirt sales in Asia.
And maybe there was something good on telly too![]()
