Yeah ir does. On your census form that you filled in there is a section that says ethnicity you can tick Irish in that....... that is ethnicity taken care of. Geography....check. a whole different island. Culture, certainly socio-economic, yep. appearance...maybe not. Genetics, certainly.
Bullshit. By that logic Glaswegians and Edinburghers are different races. Geography: East coast/north sea - West coast/Atlantic Socio-economic: Edinburgh is the financial centre of Scotland - Glasgow is a city built on it's industrial heritage Appearance: Edinburgh people are taller and healthier than Glasgow people Genetics: Glasgow has a more Scandanavian and Irish genetic blueprint whereas Edinburgh is more influenced by Anglo Saxon genetics. But we're not separate races and neither are the Irish.
Then perhaps you should campaign to have edinburgher added to the census form? Until that time, you'll have to accept that we are ethnically different having different cultural needs and sensitivities.
