Last season league cup final 20000 Rangers fans sang sectarian songs throughout. , BBC never said a word but come the Scottish cup final Rob Maclean and Pat Nevin then made up stories of Celtic fans singing sectarian songs, funny Rangers never fell out with the BBC then !!!!
I tend to agree with Rangers withdrawal of cooperation with the Beeb. After that shambolic editing of McCoist commenting on sectarianism the beeb have had a clear agenda on **** stirring and using Rangers as a platform to do so. They openly admited they we in the wrong with their blatant editing in the way of an apology. For me it's just a constant battle with them so why not tell them to **** off. I couldn't care less about copperting with that **** brodcasting coperation
And in a bid to generate more cash fo rthe club takes on a second job as head of the gents fashion in a departement store
Craig Whyte today blasted back at the BBC for their reporting of his alleged secret shareholdings in Mrs Slocombes pussy.
What lies though Frank? Fair enough they sensationalise nothing stories - but thats what gets media sources noticed - they ofen mistakenly think thats whats needed to make more impact or money (see Daily Record as another example) Doesnt mean they are lying though The issues they raise are real - albeit petty. Is it the fact that they dare to write/broadcast anything negative about Rangers that you have an issue with? Im not for a moment saying you arent spot on with them being pish - but everything you mention is mentioning things that sully the name of rangers. on each occasion you mention above Rangers and their fans give them the opportunity to spout it Celtic and our fans are guilty too - but why do you lot care so much?
Rangers aren't use to the Scottish press reporting negative stories about them. Throughout Murray's tenure there were too many journalists suckling at his teet that negative stories were often downplayed or not reported at all. Wee ride alongs on his private jet or dinners of succulent lamb saw to that. Different ball game now that he's gone albeit there still seems to be a reluctance in certain quarters to report fully what's going on at Ibrox.
That's a fair summation I think. Minty had 99% of Scottish hacks in his back pocket - when they were not eating succulent lamb and the finest Bordeaux - Whyte does not have the same leverage so the toys are oot the pram.
So what have BBC reported .......Rangers fans sing sectarian songs (they do), Rangers have had a huge pot of cash ringfenced for directors in litigation with the club (again true), they have a huge VAT liability over their heads for something that they did do in breach of tax law (well they do and they did) Im sorry but the only warped reporting that I heard of were super allys comments being edited and I believe they apologised for that. So why throw the toys out the pram? Sounds to me like Mr Whyte under increased pressure about whether the club will exist next year.
Yeah, but the Scottish press aren't meant to talk about such things. The only club where it was said live on air that there was sectarian singing was Celtic during last season's Scottish Cup final and that turned out to be unture but you don't see Celtic banning the BBC. Rangers just aren't used to such criticism so don't know how to act. Remember, this is the club that prides itself on its 'dignity'. Not seen much of that lately.
Remember what the media did to our manager last season turned him into the victim rather than the villian . Yet old wattie getting charged with breach in his first season , had a sectarian attack on a linesman yet our media laughed at these incidents .Only Rangers could get upset by petty little incident involving the BBC , its not going to cost you the title how it cost us it last season.
