I know that wasn't what he was saying, but how can you confidently predict that any other manager wouldn't have done the same, if not better as Hull City manager?

We wouldn't be in this position if we hadn't have had the Allams more like.

I suspect that the real reason is a combination of the 'mauled by the tigers' chant and the stripey onesies worn by some of your fans ... the opposition and their fans are just completely intimidated and the result is then a formality...

That's not what he's saying.

You wouldn't be in this position if he'd gone to you in the first place.
Yeah this.

Quotes like OLM kinda backup the point:
If it is the play-off's for us, we should have Fryatt back (Pearson), probably Hobbs (Pearson) and possibly Aluko, so if anything, we'd be considerably stronger than we are now(though obviously that's dependant on not losing anyone else significant on the way).
Your core squad was built in the Pearson days, without his framework, Bruce may have had to spend more time and money looking to stablise the team before buying flamboyant and creative players like Aloko Elmo and Quinn.

If he hadn't gone to you in the first place, we may still have Hobbs and Fryatt (im not his biggest fan though, was glad he left) plus probably Chester, Brady and Koren.

This also works the other way too, we probably would not have the Sven signings Nugent, Schmichael or Konchesky (nice bloke Konch, but such a liability), possibly not even big Wes Morgan if we had Hobbs and Chester playing regularly.

Other than signing Chester, Rosenoir, Hobbs and Fryatt, I thank him for nothing.

Plus, Brady, under Pearson, was turd. Now he looks a completely different player, due to Bruce (even he said that).

I'd say our first choice XI would probably be Stockdale, Elmo, Chester Faye, Hobbs, Brady, Meyler, Aluko, Quinn, Boyd, Fryatt.

So four of Pearson's(if we include Brady who he first brought in on loan) and seven of Bruce's.

Obviously there's more to the squad than just the first XI, but they're the most important players.

... refreshing that a player has the honesty to admit to being a 'turd' ... what were his thoughts on his evolution under Bruce, something on the lines of 'now I'm barely even a skiddy' ?

But in a way, this is an invalid argument because what if we'd have got a different manager who brought in different players then it would be the other manager's players that are the 'core' squad.

I thank Pearson for coming to us whilst we were in a poor financial state and steadying the ship, but I'm sure if we'd have had another manager, we may have done the same if not better.

Bruce is in a completely different League to Pearson (or will be next Season <cheers>) in terms of running the Club, style of play and attitude to the fans/media.

Fair points, well made on the whole - the last sentence aside - which is a mixture of some conjecture (at this stage) and personal preference (although many neutrals might also agree with you on this element).

Id agree with that, but its the fact that these players have stuck and have proved their worth, its not like Bruce had to overhaul as much as Pearson had to, and unfortunately hes had to do it here again after Sven, we still have Beckford and Danns on the books, and look how their loan club is doing (Huddersfield), to me, this has proved Pearson right in sending them out.

The last season that he could push on with a team that was fundamentally "sorted" and "his players" was the season that we took him from you and he was doing well. Previous to that was his full second season at us the first time around where he finished in the playoffs. Im hoping that he will get another season here tbh, but if we sack him with the team we have, we would only need to get a Bruce type manager to polish up this team and get them working well together.

This is all my opinion and have totally forgot what point i was trying to make, my jobs getting in the way <laugh>

Some Hull fans on this thread seem to a little ungrateful.

They should be thanking little 'moneybags' leicester for taking Big Nige off their hands. <laugh>

PEARSON OUT!!!

I am glad Leicester took him away from us. I've started to enjoy watching my home team play football matches again. ;)

Biggest favour they ever did Hull. And how gracious the fans of little leicester were at the time....

Just like when they repeatedly claimed they were going to "walk it" following their takeover.

Moneybags leicester. <laugh>

Again Nigel used what he had at Hull. All your decent attacking players you have Steve Bruce has brought into the club. When you start at a club you build from the back and thats what Nigel did for you

We play some fantasic football with pace and when it clicks we rip teams in half like we have many times. And when it doesnt we lose by the odd goal

Teams you support: "All".
Fans have the right to expect success after a large financial backing. I thought Leicester would do it but they have underachieved in the last few Seasons.

It was a tongue-in-cheek response. Didn't mean anything by it mate.

I respect what Pearson did for us, he brought us the likes of Hobbs, Chester, Koren & Rosenior and is probably the reason as to why we have such a good defensive record. The only things I had against him was his negative persona in both attitude to the media/fans and his approaches to the games. You cannot play defensive at home.

.. your comments welcome Candy ... most fair and with some worthwhile humour at times ... don't concern yourself with The Charmain Man (now 'Cushelle' after rebranding) .. board name after a toilet roll which is fairly representative of the quality of every one of his posts to date - I think he is very lonely, his 'people' all but extinct on the Forest board from where he posts ... we have extended hospitality to him on humanitarian grounds (which, along with most other 'grounds', are still more modern than where his shower play) ...

I heard the Leeds board have vacancies. You should send him there!

It's a load of bollox. Brady was young and raw when he first came. He has matured incredibly now and is one of our best player. Credit to him, he turned himself into a quality player.
