Well I'll be a Monkey's uncle! There could well be something in this Evolution theory after all judging by some of the responses, it's like a Chimpanzee's tea party on here I tell you!.............................
Is that all you can do? not very bright are you? did it go over your head, or did your brain hurt at the thought of contemplating a piece of wood lives longer than you? You could very well be the missing link that the evolutionists are looking for son!.........
jesus, even for a xtian you're really obnoxious. There's only one thicko on here and he's the one believing child-like myths.
Well of course they don't, they just pick and choose what they want to suit their own ego's, even Catholic priests and Church of England priests do not believe the Bible, so no news there, most have never read the Bible let alone check out it's authenticity and accuracy with an open mind. The issue is prejudice which is built up through ignorance, and main stream miss-information from the main players like the Catholic Church, plus you now have a society that are followers of fashion, and since evolution is fashionable it's easy for the weak minded to go with the flow instead of thoroughly researching to see what the facts really are, of course believing in a creator is not fashionable either, but there are plenty of leading Scientist's in their field who do accept that there had to be a purposer or one who caused the universe in the first place, yes I must admit you have been very entertaining, yet you have still not produced the evidence for any of your evolutionary theories, no will you ever, as there is none, you know it and I do!.................
Evidence for evolution is in abundance. Where's your evidence of a man on a cloud that made everything? Actually, the way the universe began, how the Earth was formed and the evolution that followed is quite simple. The idea of a being/creature/man who created it all is rather more complex - and much much harder to explain or prove. But if you are right about the Bible (yet curiously you dislike the religion it spawned) then where does that leave the bigger picture? It's established that the Earth is a rather insignificant speck in a vast universe and the numbers involved are staggering. From what we know (no this isn't opinion) there are millions of Earth-like planets out there. Only recently the Kepler Science Conference that takes data from an old space probe announced an additional 833 such planets that are all a relatively short distance away from us. Simple maths means that there are probably billions - yes billions - of planets like Earth. Imo only man's arrogance feels the need to create an ideology suggesting we're special or 'chosen' because we're clearly not. http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericmac...erse-likely-contains-many-earth-like-planets/ So much for Man's uniqueness. But I'm interested how the religious lobby will try and explain it away when life elsewhere is discovered as it surely will be in time. They'll probably say the Bible mentioned it all along and deliberately misconstrue another biblical passage to suit. Anyway, evidence of evolution can be split into sections. These pages from Berkeley University summarise it perfectly: 1: Fossil records: http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/0_0_0/lines_02 2: Homologies (ie common ancestries) : http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/0_0_0/lines_04 3: Chronology: http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/0_0_0/lines_10 There's also a cracking article from Nature here that includes reference to Darwin's famous Galapogos finches: http://www.nature.com/nature/newspdf/evolutiongems.pdf Oh, and lastly a research paper showing unequivocally that our DNA is evolving, a conclusion completely in line with Darwin's findings: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC372862/ There's plenty more but I'd run out of space. Where's your evidence? :/
They must be adding something to the water on North Gower. Talking of Gower,he's been released by Charlton.
Just another of the gems. The word of "God", the Old Testament, had to be rewritten as it didn't portray "God" in a very good light. Yet "God" is supposedly omnipotent and omniscient Now I know you're on a wind-up.
Who created the "purposer or one who caused the universe", is there someone higher up the chain that made the all seeing magic man. Then if someone made him, who made him, and who made him, and so on and so on. Something has to start somewhere, with no creator, and for me, that is the universe. Not some hocus pocus bullshit guy in the sky, with an all seeing eye.
Fair play to Phill he's fighting his corner
You should be happy that you have over 200 posts musty. If the mods thought this was out of line they'd have stopped it even though thechnically you're right. Mods probably didn't want another ot thread opened unnecessarily. Think it'sprobably run it course now anyway. Phill is currently being counted out.
Quite simply we aren't an Islamic state so they should abide by our laws or find a more suitable state. Or alternatively the government should formally legalize multiple wives so that I can die a happy man.
One's enough Albert, come on! OK, in that spirit, an update on the recent case of the Iranian actress who accepted a peck on the cheek at the Cannes film festival recently. Apparently 'radical students' want her flogged. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-27547956 Where are the moderates? Why are they so silent?
Pop along to your local mosque, and have a chat with the imam. Go through a simple process, and become a muslim. Then you can have four wives - legally.
Why on earth would anyone want to do that ? Jeez I can't cope with the one I've got! Then again she has Italian ancestry and is not very subservient.
