Just for the record, if anybody has a differing opinion to me on matters appertaining to QPR players, I shall respect you and your opinion and certainly shall not be labelling you a **** fan.
I feel better for having cleared that up.
Good for you.
In general i'll be doing likewise- but with regards to clamouring for our talismans to be replaced; certainly not.
I'm not so sure that there was a clamour to replace him - I think your fellow fans gave honest opinions about the two in the PL. From my point of view, if it was down to the simple choice of one or the other in the PL, but not both, then it would have to be the PL-proven one as opposed to the other, But that's not to say that Austin won't step up - I hope he does. Frankly, I'd love to be able to keep both, but I suspect Remy will be off. To be left with Austin is fine with me, though. But like I said, both are only as good as the service they receive.
47% is a clamour in my books.
I wonder what the dividing line between the two camps is? Obviously there'll be exceptions, but I'd expect that the "Remys" in general don't get to as many games as the "Austins". If you're regularly watching these people perform in the flesh, you naturally build up an affection for certain players who've done well for the club.
For the others i imagine it's a bit like fantasy football, where it's always just a matter of sticking who's best on paper in the side (the sort of Man Utd fan mindset).
I was hoping the majority of the comments would be along the lines of, "Remy's a fantastic player, but Charlie's our boy, and he's earned his chance".
The guy pretty much got us promoted single handedly this season. Demoting him for a mercenary would be the equivalent of turfing Taarabt out for Lampard after our 10/11 season.

why is that.... both are Rangers players.... simply some think that Remy is a better player and proven. Doesn't make them sh1t fans. No matter what people may think at the moment about Remy, if he played and scored regularly everything will be forgotten. Thats just the way it is.
But does that make the 47% '**** fans', or just people that based their decision on different criteria to you?
You think Remy is a Rangers player? Where was he last year then???
What bollocks. Charlie has more allegiance to this club in his little finger than Remy had in his entire body.

It seems like we have the old classic game of naked twister here... my apologies I meant 'stick or twist.'
I can see both sides of the argument for either or. I voted for Charlie myself ( but what do I know?) it's a tough one.
Harry gets paid a few million quid a season to pick the right team, although I don't really think that Remy is going to be around as he doesn't want to play for us, so it will render this argument moot in any case. So although I think Grif is right in his summary of Remy, I think he was wrong to use the expression of R's fans in the way he did. But I can understand what he means. As Ube's said it's all about opinions. No need to get shirty if they differ from your own.
Fair enough nines!
I think I've said my piece now anyway, so unless there's any further offence that ends up needing assuaging- i'll back out of this thread for now.
As ever, it's a good debate![]()
Would like it to be Austin but fear he may struggle a bit ... Remy needs just a split second and it's in ... I watched Austin hack about in a few matches last year and am on record as saying he cost us at least 8 points ... but of course he won games as well. Will be a big year for him and he will become a great player from Kintbury Rangers to the Premier league in six years? is a big ask IMO. In fact let's see who turns on him from the votes if he can't cut it. Zamora is likely to go past him in the pecking list while smart defenders have Austin in their pocket.
The same could be said about Nugent, and the Burnley two ... if they were mustard then they would have gone long ago to bigger teams
Austin however will try his hardest and will need to take every chance... Remy does just that
Austin better from corners of course but Barton will be taking them
