Not really,you said "Scottish people speak English FFS"and in most areas that may be the primary language but it isn't the primary language in large areas of the west as your previous post alludes to.They will speak English to you because they are bi-lingual and they know you'll have no GÃ idhlig but that doesn't make it one language fits all.We could split hairs over Doric as well but they're east coasters and in my opinion it's a form of pidgin English.But I'd never say that to a Doric speakers face.Not unless they were really puny.

There was a programme on a bit back that explained that the Romans effectively invented Scotland. It's just a collection of tribes from other Countries really, even the name's Irish.
