I think they would have done for people like me. However (and I apologise if this offends some people, but it is my view) there is a large % of people who do actually believe and swallow all their rhetoric. Boris was voted Mayor of London, so people do believe.
I am trying to find a more non-offensive word than 'intelligence' and I can't right now. So for what of a better, less offensive word, there are a lot of people out there at a leek of knowledge or intellect that don't consider or understand all issues, but who just follow the sound bites. They would have followed Boris and Nigel.
Boris was mayor of London, London was a huge remain supporter, people who voted for boris for mayor voted against him for this, i doubt he picked up any voters in London who didn't elect him to be Mayor.
I think what your trying to say is this vote was based on class? which to a degree i will agree, I based my vote purely on advice i had received from people like myself. Work full time to provide for my family, no real savings, mortgage, no pension, I believe alot of people similar to myself voted for change. I believe that if i had a large pension stacks of savings and earned large bonuses from working in the city i would have voted to remain.
(sorry, couldn't resist that opening).
