There is a fundamental issue with how facilities are available for kids to actually learn things and that is a funding issue (again).

I remember being able to stay in centre 2000 all day and just play. I never had formal swimming lessons but learnt to swim just by being in the water and working it out by watching older people and copying them. Now swimming pools are timed sessions with segregation in the pools (ie lane swimming, class areas etc) and there isn't the opportunity for a lot of kids to just play.

I know this is just a symptom of places trying to be profitable.

We also have a whole host of new rules and regulations compared to when I was a kid but never seem to fund the places so that they can be compliant properly.

A school should never have to compromise on it's ability to teach children due to costs and that's a failure on the government.

Not sure there were many days above 35 degrees during term time 15+ years ago?

I finished school in 2010 and the hottest summer I cam remember from yoof is 2003 and that was during the school holidays.

I made a comment on here about a year ago that I could not envisage Donald Trump serving out the whole is whole term. It is looking like I am going to be proved right . I cannot believe this afternoon' comment about the reflecting pool in Washington. The whole world now seems to be laughing at him regardless of his health issues and the media seems to have become far less respectful.

Ian, he isn't being removed from office over comments over a pool. His popularity is tanking, but that won't get him removed from office.

He won't get removed over the pool but the inflation, Iran War, trade wars, etc, etc will count massively against him - even before you get to health issues including his increasingly obviously senility. He seems to come out with statements each day which seem increasingly bizarre.

The Uk press should start questioning Farage about his adherence to Trump.

I am staggered that Peter Murrell is now serving prison sentence but Nicola Sturgeon has not even received any form of censure. I was a fan of NS yet I cannot see how she was unaware that there was something suspicious about her husband's largesse. The press seem entertained by her embarrassment yet there seems to be no one challenging the conclusions of the Scottish constabulary.
