"A commemorative gold coin bearing the image of US President Donald Trump has been approved by a federal arts commission.
The 24-karat gold coin is intended to mark America's 250th birthday this 4 July and portrays Trump with his fists pressed against a desk.

After a presentation by the US Mint, the US Commission of Fine Arts voted unanimously to approve the design, despite questions over its legality.

The commission's vice-chairman, James McCrery, said: "I motion to approve this [coin] as presented, and with the strong encouragement that you make it as large as possible, all the way to three inches in diameter."

Trump last year fired the Commission of Fine Arts' members, replacing them with allies."

Such a petty, vindictive comment. Trump has never been an innocent person EVER!

I am beyond being surprised by Trump. Thw Japanese incident was crass but making the cimment about the passing of the chap who investigated him was shocking.

At what point do Trump supporters say enough is enough.

But they don’t see what we see. They voted for him because he is like them. How could one country produce over 100 million morons.

Literally.

A few weeks ago I put the old VPN to a different use and looked at the main media sites in the US.
You need the VPN as many block you if you're outside the usa (already a warning there really).

The reporting of Trump and his government is now hugely biased, instead of reporting on the shooting of that poor woman in her car by ICE they described civil unrest and violent immigrants being bravely arrested by those same spendid chaps. It makes the BBC (I'm no fan) look rather good.

It borders on conspiracy theories, and it's no longer just the Fox news ranters, most mainstream sources are the same.

It's very depressing as I think Vance or his ilk will follow Trump into the White House if the Orange one doesn't find a way to have a 3rd term.
 
Anti-semitic hate crime, four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community ambulance service have been set on fire in Golders Green. Police are examining CCTV and are aware of online footage and are looking for three suspects. Thankfully no one injured and can but hope the culprits get their just deserts.

As Brits obsess about Trump being rude to the Japanese this is happening on their doorstep. Where is our gutless PM promising the perpetrators will feel the full force of the law now? I totally agree that this attack was shocking. Setting fire to any ambulances is sick in any circumstances.

There was talk over the weekend that this attack may have been sponsored by Iranians, akin to the recent Russia attacks in UK where "useful idiots" were employed to carry out the arsons at the behest of foreign agents UK.
 
"Security agencies are investigating whether a group linked to Iran is behind an arson attack on four ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity in north London.

The Metropolitan police said efforts to authenticate a claim of responsibility made by a group known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI) were a priority as the force sought to track three hooded people caught on CCTV at the scene.

It is is understood MI5, which is working closely with counter-terrorism officers, has not ruled out Tehran’s involvement in the explosions in Golders Green, an area of north London that has a large Jewish community.

Last year Ken McCallum, the director general of MI5, warned that Iran represented a serious threat in the UK and said security agencies had tracked “more than 20 potentially lethal Iran-backed plots” in the previous year.

Kevan Jones, also known as Lord Beamish, the chair of the intelligence and security committee tasked with overseeing the UK’s spy agencies, said Iran was increasingly using individuals or groups at arm’s length to execute attacks in Europe."

He said: “They are doing this through organised crime and through individuals by paying them and that’s what it is more likely to be here – if it is indeed linked to Iran.”

Ian there couldn't have been talk over the weekend that this attack may have been sponsored by Iranians, it happened in the early hours of Monday morning. It's important to get facts right in these cases. There's no doubt of the threat of Iranian involvement in attacks in the UK and elsewhere.
