No, we just don’t think there is any reason to believe in one. A lack of belief is often mis-labelled as a belief, but it isn’t.

Do you have a belief that humans are powered by small gnomes pedalling bicycles or is it just a silly thought not worth thinking about? There is no reason to believe in a god nor is there a reason to call not believing ‘a belief’. It is simply a ludicrous nonsense. I don’t have a belief in the non existence of Santa. I just know he doesn’t exist.

At last! Someone else agrees with me! I thought I was the only one who believed in the all-powerful cycling gnomes, but now I know I'm not alone, I'll re-start the construction of the gnomic velodrome temple I was building in my garden.

Moldova’s ruling pro-Western party is on track for a decisive victory and a fresh majority in parliament after a crucial election riven with allegations of Russian interference. Before the vote, President Maia Sandu warned that Russia had spent “hundreds of millions of euros” in a bid to sway the result, seen as crucial for the former Soviet state’s future path to the European Union.
But with more than 99% of votes counted early Monday, Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) had secured more than 50% of the vote, far ahead of the pro-Russian opposition Patriotic Bloc with under 25%. If confirmed, PAS will retain its majority in Moldova’s 101-seat legislature.

Funny that some people call the idea of a god simply ludicrous nonsense and know he doesn't exist but in the next breath will tell you that a man can become a woman despite knowing it's not possible. Kind of discredits their opinions on what is and what isn't real.

Funny how you are so obsessed with that when I am willing to bet you a grand you can’t find a single currently active poster who has ever said that.

Humans, eh?

We feel poor. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than widening wealth imbalance.

I can’t get a home. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than the rich who treat land and property as investment rather than giving us homes.

My wages are depressed. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than the wealthy multinationals who outsource work to poorer countries and send profits up to investors rather than down to workers.

I can’t start a business. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than faceless corporations whose stores dominate our high streets, or sell everything cheaper online.

Our government is crap. Whose fault is it! Let’s blame whichever party seems kindest to strangers, rather than the previous ones who caused all the mess or the Russian funded MAGA-lite brigade who have already stripped us of our place at the head of the European table.

****ing humans.

Based on what exactly? Reform are surging in the polls and won a shedload of seats at the latest local elections.

Thank you for your reply and I shall try to answer you. Firstly, accounts will emerge about the ineptness of Reform in local government that will result in the right-wing press reducing their support. Secondly, the financial markets will have a big say in the eventual outcome. If there is even a threat of a Reform Government, watch the City react as they did with Liz Truss. This will result in losing more support. Thirdly, Farage is the fall guy in opposition while the Tories quietly sit still, do nothing and gradually regroup. Finally, the big financial backers will back the Tories. And PS: I am not a Tory but the Tories will recover considerable lost support before the next election.

The distinction between the Tories and Reform reminds me of an old, probably slightly racist joke.;

Q What's the difference between the Germans and the Austrians?
A The Germans were the Nazis. The Austrians are the Nazis

The bartender says "hello Mr Burnham"
I met Andy Burnham back in the early 90’s when he was Shadow Health Secretary. He visited the hospital I worked at and met some of the union reps, and I pointed out that all the professional staff who work in private healthcare were trained within the NHS at taxpayers’ expense, and shouldn’t the private sector be paying some of that back? He promised to look into it, and 30 years and 2 Labour administrations later I’m still waiting.
