And just like that, I said that politics and religion should be kept separate and join them on the politics thread :)

At last! Someone else agrees with me! I thought I was the only one who believed in the all-powerful cycling gnomes, but now I know I'm not alone, I'll re-start the construction of the gnomic velodrome temple I was building in my garden.

Moldova’s ruling pro-Western party is on track for a decisive victory and a fresh majority in parliament after a crucial election riven with allegations of Russian interference. Before the vote, President Maia Sandu warned that Russia had spent “hundreds of millions of euros” in a bid to sway the result, seen as crucial for the former Soviet state’s future path to the European Union.
But with more than 99% of votes counted early Monday, Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) had secured more than 50% of the vote, far ahead of the pro-Russian opposition Patriotic Bloc with under 25%. If confirmed, PAS will retain its majority in Moldova’s 101-seat legislature.

It is the people who support him that frighten me. We are allowing policy to be driven by the most unthinking and violent sector of our population.

Funny that some people call the idea of a god simply ludicrous nonsense and know he doesn't exist but in the next breath will tell you that a man can become a woman despite knowing it's not possible. Kind of discredits their opinions on what is and what isn't real.

Funny how you are so obsessed with that when I am willing to bet you a grand you can’t find a single currently active poster who has ever said that.

I just love a single-minded obsession that causes a certain poster so much rage he brings it up once a week, with nobody ever engaging him!

    Humans, eh?

We feel poor. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than widening wealth imbalance.

I can’t get a home. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than the rich who treat land and property as investment rather than giving us homes.

My wages are depressed. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than the wealthy multinationals who outsource work to poorer countries and send profits up to investors rather than down to workers.

I can’t start a business. Whose fault is it? Let’s blame strangers, rather than faceless corporations whose stores dominate our high streets, or sell everything cheaper online.

Our government is crap. Whose fault is it! Let’s blame whichever party seems kindest to strangers, rather than the previous ones who caused all the mess or the Russian funded MAGA-lite brigade who have already stripped us of our place at the head of the European table.

    ****ing humans.
