Beat me to it. The arsehole should be prosecuted for wasting police and other authorities' time.

Instead, he was accused of being part of a vigilante effort after it turned out they were the four-person crew of an ocean rowing boat who were off Great Yarmouth as they attempted to row from Land’s End to John o’Groats to raise funding and awareness for motor neurone disease (MND)."

Here's something you don't see on here very often, if at all. An alternative viewpoint to what's going on in Gaza that hasn't originated from a Hamas source (GHM).
The two involved in the interview are pro Israel and explicitly state that. None of us know the truth of what's going on in Gaza but that doesn't stop most comments on here being pro Palestine and anti Israel. I don't know if what is being said is the undeniable truth or the whole story. The interviewee admits to only seeing a small part but this, at least gives an alternative view.
Most of you won't like it or believe it even if you bother to listen because "people will believe what they want to believe". So unless you are completely obdurate I suggest having a listen to this guy.

The fact is that Hamas is undoubtedly evil, but that does not exonerate Israel for its approach. Hamas is like Iago, goading his victim into acts of cruelty. But Israel is more of a dimwitted Roderigo than an honourable Othello.

I thought this was really funny but fair play to Lowe donating money to charity following his faux pas.

I see that there have been more racist protests about immigrants in Southampton today. I do wonder why these individuals are not identified and shamed. Good to see The Guardian reporting the percentage of protesters following the Southport inspired riots who had criminal convictions for domestic abuse. Indicative of exactly who the patriots are who are against immigration.

Wish the government had the balls to deport these thugs and send them to somewhere like Trump’s Amerikkka. Not really convinced these people really represent the morals of this country.

Number of those arrested, not No of protestors, as in all of them. They weren't running around doing surveys of all attendees. The bad eggs that had a history stepped over the mark expectedly but to paint this % of those arrested as being "percentage of protestors" is wilfully misleading.

The actual "facts" are 41% of 899 people arrested "at protests" across the country had a record of domestic abuse or any other qualifying criteria they used. What I find interesting is that there is no information on if any of these arrests were "anti" protestors! Like when they publish headlines of "15 arrested at EDL rally" which turns out to be 13 antifa and 2 EDL! But lets get real. These people weren't protestors. They were trouble makers that jumped on a local protest and then increasing numbers arrived in response to "anti protestors" because that is what happens at each and every protest to cause trouble and its not surprise that "41%" had records!

This is the reason the Hope not Hate guy faked his "twitter posts" to publicise non existent protests in order to "rally the troops."

Equally misleading is calling a load of women in pink t-shirts sat down protesting as "racist protests." Why do you say they should be identified and shamed? They are not hiding their faces and are letting anyone film them. Pretty sure they have self doxxed there, unlike the rent-a-mob charging in to cause a rumble with their faces covered....which then attracts the rough house "protestors" you describe.

Seems like on more than 1 issue, women protesting about not feeling safe are the No1 target these days!

There's a pattern here. locals protest peacefully valid concerns about how their community is being treated, police and the authorities' weasel words on the subject..........anti protestors rallied through often official channels (yesterday local labour groups share tweets and rally the "counter protestors") who are not peaceful and that attracts the worst kind of people and the latter 2 groups are ones that makeup your 41% of arrests, not the actual protestors who were just stood there with placards peacefully.

Trying to compose a balanced response to Game's post.

I think the people supporting Palestine are the mainstream, to be honest. Not sure that the government has recognised this in prescribing Palestine Action and think they have badly misread the views of the broader public. It is by no means universally popular. Seems like a similar over reaction such as when Thatcher prevented Republican views being broadcast during reports into Northern Ireland back in the 1980s. The government lost that case too.

I think British people are generally uncomfortable when views in support of oppressed people are suppressed and this is even when they might not actually agree with those viviews. We usually support the underdog.

For me , the issue with PA is that their proactive acts have not only been criminal but have also outwitted the authorities. That is why they have been prescribed. Some of their actions have been criminal and that does concern me. I also find it frustrating that expressing an opinion on this could be criminal. It is inconsistent with the proposed government recognition of Palestine. However, I do feel that the government will back down if they lose the impending court case. The great thing about democracy is that there is a judicial route to challenge bad law.

Just wonder if Starmer would have done the same against CND and the women peace protesters , both of whom were instrumental in bringing about the end of the Cold War.

For me the solution is simple. Formally recognise the Palestinian state and also impose sanctions on Israel with the threat of deporting their diplomats and imposing sanctions. Just don't think Starmer has the balls to do this.
