That may be true, but putting the blame on the human race may not be the answer, as shown in Myanmar the Planet is quite capable of destroying itself and all who live on it.
There have always been infrequent extreme weather events, it’s just that they’re now becoming more frequent and more extreme due to our actions

Science says so

We need to think about future generations

I don’t have kids but I still feel a sense of responsibility

Amanda Spielman, who was Ofsted chief inspector when head teacher Ruth Perry took her own life after an inspection, is set to become a peer in the House of Lords.

She is understood to have been nominated for the honour, yet to be announced, by Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch - who has not commented.

A Conservative source described her as a "brilliant thinker with a wealth of knowledge" who would be a "huge asset to parliament".

Ms Spielman served as head of the schools watchdog from 2017 to 2023, with an independent review launched during her last year finding Ofsted's response to Mrs Perry's death had been "defensive and complacent".

Mrs Perry took her own life in January 2023 after learning her school, Caversham Primary School in Berkshire, was set to be downgraded from "outstanding" to "inadequate". Her inquest in December of the same year ruled the school's inspection had contributed towards her death.

Ms Spielman received criticism after suggesting in November 2023 that Mrs Perry's "very sad case" had been "used as a pivot" to "discredit" the schools watchdog.

In a statement, Mrs Perry's sister, Prof Julia Waters, said Ms Spielman's nomination for a peerage was a "disgrace", and that her record "should not be rewarded" with a place in the House of Lords.

"Through her response to Ruth's death and the subsequent inquest and inquiries while head of Ofsted, Amanda Spielman showed herself to be lacking in many of the qualities that you would hope would be needed in Parliament," she said.

I appreciate you are obviously better qualified, but 99.9999999% of the world’s scientists think you’re talking complete bollocks.

The fact you think that many scientists agree, shows you have been brainwashed

Plenty of scientists disagree. They just get deplatformed

However, because I don’t want to be the type of cowardly individual you are, I will answer your post.

Not looked into the veracity of it, because I can’t be arsed. Because it’s a non issue. Because it’s really not wasting any real money.

But yes, it’s slightly absurd for a British MP, but a total fuss over nothing much that I can see.

Bar Amanda Spielman from being elevated to the House of Lords

Urge decision-makers to reject proposals to elevate Amanda Spielman. Our education system deserves leadership that's compassionate, accountable & dedicated to the wellbeing of those it serves. Stand in solidarity with Ruth's family, friends, and colleagues in demanding justice and meaningful change.

Spielman was Ofsted chief inspector when headteacher Ruth Perry took her own life after an inspection. Spielman has neither accepted responsibility nor demonstrated meaningful remorse for the policies that contributed to this tragedy. Granting her a life peerage would be a grave injustice, sending the message that those responsible for harmful policies can ascend to positions of power without consequence.

It is a complete joke and shows yet more evidence of the two tier society that is happening.

British taxpayers that have lived here all their lives are not even considered AGAIN

Not true.

Something as complex as the global climate is not “settled” science.

The truth is that Climate Change may be a figment of our imagination? Another thought, Global conflict could be a major contributor of polution? Every shell, every bomb, every rocket, every flying machine and every vehicle contributes in the scale of things, all justified because it's war...

1. How do you know she is not doing this voluntarily ?

2. I suspect that this is a big issue for some of her constituents.

3. Driving 3hrs in Indian subcontinent is not like a jaunt down to Devon.
