What’s really getting my goat on it now, is the likes of Hegseth trying to turn it onto Jeffrey Goldberg, calling him “deceitful and highly discredited”. It’s a nasty, unfair tactic, rather than owning the error. Says a lot about the characters in this administration. I’m looking for the honest ‘good guys’ and coming up short.

Hegseth also saying “nobody was texting war plans”, which is a clear lie, makes me think he’s worrying about his position now.

I mean the evidence is there in black and white.

Ridiculous behaviour to deny it. Unless the texts are somehow AI generated or photoshopped, which we already know isn’t the case.

I’d have already sacked him. If you can’t keep such a basic conversation secret, what else are you incompetent at

Talking of Stats, it's my guess that there are very few readers on this site that have the faintest idea about what you are on about and even less that actually give a damn? I am sure you would get more balanced responses elsewhere.

Agreed. Hegseth was always a very dubious choice, and a very dubious character. It would be no loss if he were chopped.

The WhatsApp group leak should result in all members of the group being dismissed. It makes the Hilary Clinton e mail breach look minor but i think Trump will stick by his team. Doubt if there will be any fall out with this lot. Donald does not appear to be concerned. Most Americans do not know where Europe is let alone Yemin and it will not be an issue for voters.... most of whom are like Homer Simpson.

Every single person in that chat knew that it was not acceptable to talk about key decisions over signal. Some of the people on that chat had their messages set to disappear. This is much worse than accidentally inviting a journalist.

There are round pegs in square holes throughout the Trump administration. Chosen for blind loyalty rather than ability. The worst may well be amongst Musk's DOGE dogs.

Everywhere you look, the people at the top of the new administration is very concerning. Trumps very questionable characteristics seems to be very contagious. He can get away with it, so we can behave in the same dishonest, aggressive, deceitful, and arrogant way with our allies and not have to suffer any consequences

Goldberg can’t ignore Hegseth’s character assassination of him though. If he does, it becomes an established fact that nothing untoward happened.

Goldberg certainly isn't lying down on this and is debunking Hegseth's bullshit and lies as my earlier post. This from The Hill quoting a CNN interview.
