What does appear to have escaped the public’s attention so far about this government, is that it’s not remotely Blairite. Re-nationalisation of the railways, regenerating social housing, Great British Energy, instigating a sovereign wealth fund - these are very much Old Labour economic and social policies

What centrists say is not what they intend to actually happen. Tories said lots of things to appear "righty" but never intended them to actually happen and similarly Labour say lots of things to appear "lefty" never intending them to happen.

On your list of policies presented to show that Starner's labour is not blalirite; remember re-nationalisation of the railways was something Blair supported when he wanted to get the gig. It was actually one of his pre election promises but it was dropped from the manifesto and then dropped completely once he won election as PM!

Regenerating social housing? Have we forgotten the "decent homes initiative?" incorporated to make gazillions for fake companies like Kier? Instead of bringing homes up to standard they blanket stripped and replaced everything. No checks to see what needed doing. Whole streets, whole areas = new windows, new roofs, new kitchens, new bathrooms! not just what needed bringing up to standard. Thanks for my new roof, windows and bathroom guys but it didn't need doing. If anything only thing my house needed updated was the kitchen but unfortunately my street wasn't on the kitchen blanket update!

All 4 you listed are exactly blairite. They are presented as social things but are vehicles to take the tax purse and send it up the tree!

In other news..........Thank god Greg Wallace has stood up for his working class roots and blamed middle class women for them attacking the working class man's right to be a sexual deviant. It is well known all of us are such and middle class women should be told to accept it. We need more high profile working class people prepared to speak up in public and defend our rights to be who we are. Its all just a bit of fnar, fnar, honest.

I’ve already said that this will open the Democrats up to accusations of hypocrisy. Joe Biden knows this, I’m sure; probably his love for his troubled son trumps all other considerations.

Claiming Trump is corrupt and evil. And people bought into those lies.

The truth is they are just as corrupt, probably more so, than Trump.

So yes; this stuff matters a lot. Same as over here. Labours lies and lack of integrity matter.
 
FWIW I don't like what Biden's done (people should have to face the consequences of their actions regardless of who they are or who they're related to), but let's not pretend Trump wouldn't do exactly the same thing if he was in the same situation. And TBF a number of Democrats have criticised him for the move.

Even the language you’ve used here shows that you’re brainwashed.

If Trump pardoned his son for something, you wouldn’t be saying “his love for his son trumps his other considerations “ and framing it in this way.

You’d be saying “the orange lying criminal is corrupt, it’s the end of democracy as we know it etc”

It’s like you accept terrible behaviour because you agree with Biden’s politics.

Os, I actually agree that Biden has crossed the line here. But your issue is that you think the sun shines out of Trump's backside despite all his legal problems (which will now disappear). You can't come across all righteous when you've ignored all of Trump's ****.

I have consistently said that if Trump has committed any crimes, I hope he faces proper judgement and punishment

I don’t agree with Biden’s politics. I’m a socialist and a Trade Unionist, Biden certainly isn’t. But I believe that our common humanity is more important than differences of opinion. Even Trump, emotionally damaged though he so obviously is, is probably capable of love. On that basis, I’d give him the benefit of the doubt if he pardoned his own son. His pardoning of convicted criminals like Roger Stone, I’m less willing to forgive.

The other interesting part is Statute of limitations for general federal crimes is 5 year. No reason to look back 10 years. Unless…

(Federal crimes with no statute are treason, murder, genocide, crimes against humanity, child abduction, war crimes, espionage, and certain financial crimes involving taxes.)
