Hahaha, Boris's reply to whether Trump should be admitted to the UK back in 2015.
It'll be interesting to see what happens if he decides to visit the UK now that he is a convicted criminal.
Serves as a reminder that Johnson was neither left or right wing, he would play whichever side he needed to get votes.
He got the Mayor of London job by presenting himself as a very liberal Conservative.
Then pivoted hard behind Brexit.
Then ran probably the most left sided Conservative election manifesto in 2019 (with no intention to deliver).
Then appointed a bunch of ministers from the right of the Conservative Party.
His position was whatever wins, the problem for him was that winning elections is one thing and he was very good at it, but what you do when you win them is a whole different ballgame and he had very little interest in the latter.
The abominable Johnson was known to be a proven liar, misogynistic serial adulterer and now a convicted criminal who people still voted for. More fool them.
They need to be careful, the 'free speech absolutist' is absolute about cancelling speech he disagrees with.

I think the key is is what you are saying here in the "better off" bit. This was (as usual) an election about "the economy stupid" and while the left of the western world go on a policy sheet of ideological ideas the folks lower down the chain vote against it because those ideological ideas are leaving them with (a lot) less $$$ / £££ in their pockets.
The left can't continue to bang on about immigration being key "because they do the jobs the natives won't do" when the natives were doing them before the politicos bowed down to their masters and turned it into a self fulfilling prophecy by flooding labour markets intentionally.
The left can't continue to bang on about "women's rights" yet wholesale get behind policies of the trans lobby that erode women's rights. And then blame women for voting against them.
The left can't continue to think they can brush off any critique of their world view by shouting 'isms" at people.
And the Tories are included in that left. While people want to bang on about the words they use and the policies they announced that they never intended to get through, they were actually still doing the exact same centrist BS that has the western world in a deep pile of trouble at the moment which a lot of unsavoury characters are managing to utilise!!
The left need to stop hiding behind shield names like "progressive" or "centrist" when there is not a jot of progress intended and the centrist agenda is quite literally to push a trickle up setup at all of our expenses in plain sight with no need to hide anything.
This lot have left us with these demagogues, as you like to call them, because they do not listen at all any more, nor represent any constituent other than their paymasters and big business.
The whole "we need to rejoin the EU ASAP" is so delusional that I can only see it as being someone still praying to the alter of Juncker's wallet. Even Tusk ignores the rules he espoused in the Brexit era these days! When the new leader of the US (our largest individual trading partner country) is suggesting tariffs all round why would we want to rejoin the EU that will for sure not be able to do a deal with the US at all? Its just mad.
But hey ho, "Orange man bad" is the call to arms while we disappear into a hellhole made by "progressives" while they drive our living costs up with their ideologies and tell women their rights don't count anymore.
Do I expect it to change? Nope because it will be more of the same. More of the "we aren't getting our message across" and I hate to think where we will be in a decade!
At least Farage will be too old by the time they catch up the red blue uni-party.
Or hopefully some people might wake up to the fact that this globalist "centrist" lot are determined to keep fleecing us all in order to make more money for their friends in big corp that will definitely not be helping any of us out. People voting for the very people that as a block have chuckled their way to increasing inequality to insane levels. People voting for the very people that want to censor anything that counters their view while somehow thinking they believe in freedom of speech.
