I totally agree with rejoining the SM and CU but it is Starmer who, currently at least, rules it out. Quite how the 'reset' will look like and what will change is to be seen. Rejoining would mean adopting freedom of movement and aligning with EU trade regulations and agreements. negating already negotiated treaties, I.E with Japan. Hardly surprising those deals have been to the detriment of the UK, ask the farmers and fishermen.

"Taking questions from journalists after the news conference, Sir Keir was pressed over what concessions the UK would have to offer to secure an improved deal.
The PM said he was "absolutely clear" the government wanted to reset relations with Europe.
He added: "That does not mean reversing Brexit or re-entering the single market or the customs union.
"But it does mean a closer relationship on a number of fronts, including the economy, including defence, including exchanges."
According to the article UK's existing Brexit trade deal, is due to be reviewed in 2026.
Following brexit the UK has gone from being a rule maker to a rule taker.
It still looks to me as if he is dragging his feet. And by 2026, we are halfway to another GE and so the review goes on. He would not be reversing Brexit by rejoining the CU and SM as the UK would not have rejoined politically. This is what Bunter should have negotiated in the first place. Instead he managed to pi** everybody off.
