Just seen the first sentence has been handed down to those involved in the Southport rioting. A 58-year-old has been given three years for violent disorder and assaulting a police officer. Another on Merseyside given two years for attempting to set a police vehicle alight
Anyone read the Echo comments section? It's always been a bit unhinged but didn't expect so much unabashed support for rioters.
I guess these old men have to do something between rounds at The Standing Order.
Unfortunately the vast majority of those who are planning on rioting across the UK tonight have underdeveloped frontal lobes - the area of the brain responsible for logic and reasoning. So what we are likely to see is a rare social phenomenon - mass gatherings of humans with underdeveloped brains, unable to articulate their discontent and frustration of their own shortcomings, resorting to violence and disorder, a relic of our common lineage with chimpanzees. Really fascinating stuff, from an anthropological point of view.
Also apparently they have a lot of testosterone - It is what makes you right or left wing apparently.
Each time I mention that or write it on the forum it looks more and more ridiculous.
Can I ask a genuine non volatile question regarding immigration.
What constitutes to you all an 'illegal immigrant' that we need to 'stop' to 'get our country back'?
To me those on the boats aren't illegal, if they land and immediately try to claim asylum (ignore the actual topic of stopping the boats for now - i agree we can be a soft touch). Surely they are in the process and documented then?
They are illegal if they are undocumented? Those that claim asylum, are they the 'rapists & murderers' or are those that don't want to be legally put through a process?
Genuine question to see what people think.
Forget for now the cost of putting them up whilst they are being processed.

I still don’t know why people on here are so surprised that the protests have a lot of support.
Riots are the ‘voice of the unheard’ in labours own words, and the electorate has been completely ignored on mass immigration for 20 years or more.
The government have created a no-win situation for themselves now as well. Many people will look at the harsh sentences for the protestors and ask why no such things were in place at the BLM or Palestine protests.
The perception of a two tier justice system is only going to increase.

I think illegal immigration is a nice buzzword for your reactionary racists. The vast majority of immigrants are totally legal - and whether they came across on boats or snuck over on a train or flew on their magic carpets, the asylum seekers and carboot sneakers are a drop in the ocean.
2/5ths of documented immigrants are actually students. They are paying to be here. Most of the rest are holding together our decaying health and social services.

It wasn’t a couple of years ago during BLM.
Days after police officers were attacked, Starmer took one knee and knelt in solidarity with the rioters.
Pro-Palestine supporters were firing fireworks at the police too. Nothing was said or done

Maybe I am naive, but I don't think all of these 100 will be legitimate and/or sizeable. There will be a number where it's a small turnout and I'm sure some are maybe even ghost events where no one will show / they are trying to bait the morons on the other side, who will no doubt show their own stupidity
