I don't think it is important now, but will be in the future/next year or so. It really isn't hard to misrepresent someone with in person voting. Not being exploited at the moment, but I am pretty sure it will be

So the actual cost to pass your test of approx £2500 won't affect those needing to use a driving licence as ID as you can get it for £20 anyway, even without passing your test.
Just checked online and apparently the first driving licences in 1903 were available to anyone over th age of 17, at a cost of 5 shillings. That is approx £28 today. Really good that in 1903 they didn't need a driving licence to use as ID to vote....
But why let the facts get in the way of a bit of well deserved tory bashing
Just looked at the election data estimates for youth turnout over time.
In 1974 GE youth turnout was over 70%.
Simple fact of the matter is that the older generation voted in much higher numbers when they were young than young people now.
An element of responsibility needs to be taken and stop pandering to young people.
They have unfettered access to technology but choose to neglect to be functioning members of society. Labour seem to think increasing voted turn out will win elections but the majority of the lowest turnout seats are part of the red wall.

According to gov.uk the cost is £34 not £20, and what is the point of spending that amount of money for a provisional licence if you can’t afford to pay for the driving lessons?
But why let common sense get in the way when you’re defending the indefensible?
I've had a licence since I left school at 16 and I'm old now, starting out with a provisional, because you still needed one to hop on a moped/scooter/motorbike even with no lessons being required back then. Also the digital photo used on a licence can also be linked into your passport when you require one and visa versa, I think that's done by government gateway.

The American justice department have arrested some black racial injustice groups under the accusation that they are ‘working for Russia’ because they were speaking out against the Ukraine war.
I am deeply concerned about the rise in authoritarian tendencies of western governments, no matter the political leanings of those being targeted.
From the Canadian government freezing the bank accounts of freedom convoy, to Macron ignoring democracy, to the Tories wanting to ban protesting, to this… I think there is truly something to be worried about in the West.
There is a troubling trend in governments overreaching.

Mate, I know you are the most widely read and open-minded person on here, but have you actually read the report yourself? And, having done that, have you read your own posts lately?

This is the first paragraph. The very first. It establishes that these 4 US individuals plus 3 Russian narratives directly interfered in the election process.
