“Russian withdrawal” - from where? All of Ukraine? Including the eastern zones they now consider separate nations? Crimea?

Almost certainly not the latter. Interested about the eastern parts. If they do then that will be a complete climb down for them. It would be a complete defeat apart from (I guess) a guarantee that Ukraine doesn’t join nato and the EU. I don’t see it

12 points too many.
As offered by another Twitter contribution and Chilco earlier, there's only 3 needed:
1 Russia out if Ukraine, Crimea, and all the rest of Ukraine.
2.All reparations paid for by Russia.
3.All Russian government and military people face war crime charges, right down the chain of command from Putin downwards
Needed yes, reality no.

I honestly know you’re not being negative Tom, but the reality is that anything less that the complete defeat of Putin will mean he’ll just do it again in a year or so.
Yes, but first we just need to stop this invasion. If it means a compromise now so be it. The sanctions will need to stay until Putin calls off the invasion and all Russian forces are out of Ukraine but it's simply not possible to end this without giving Putin some sort of incentive. I'm not talking about lifting all sanctions straight away but NATO/EU are going to have to offer a gradual easing of the sanctions otherwise Putin will just go "**** you then".

I fully agree with the fact that, for the sake of the the Ukranians, the invasion must stop. But I'm really less keen on giving Putin any sense of victory, he simply cannot be trusted to keep to any agreement. The West has to pursue it's course with sanctions, as you say, but we have to get into our heads that Russia will never treat the world in the way we would prefer until they are governed by more rational, democratically appointed people. That is a very tough prospect and I can see why it can be seen as unrealistic, but anything less will probably make the next encounter an even more dangerous one than this. This is not a 6 week or so solution as one or two media people might be leaning towards in their haste to change the headlines. Let's face it Syria et al are the legacy of Putin's way of doing things and they've been forgotten about almost, despite the horrific death and refugee crisis still going on. Yes we all want this end but not as before with Crimea.

This is disgusting. I read the BBC article about P&O, and saw it paid shareholders a £270 million dividend in 2020!!

On rhe issue of taking on agency staff, I wonder how many of these new recruits are well trained in Health&Safety issues,, never mind in other aspects related to the job.

So we need to boycott P&O Ferries and P&O cruises. The Government should at least ensure a big tax is extracted from the company if they want to continue operating in the UK.

Back to the main issue, we need to ensure that P&O reverse their decision!

Apparently agency staff on ships are normally domiciled in the Philippines but very rarely ever set foot on shore.

I can see a lot of clients turning their backs on P&O for this appalling treatment of their staff unless they retract!! Perhaps UK ports could refuse entry to any P&O ferry, cruise ship. And if EU countries did the same, that would forcé the company into a massive rethink, surely?
