Hardly that, I think his stock is pretty low on the international stage.A piece about Johnson trying to promote himself as the “main man” in tackling Putin.

NATO is committed to supporting Ukraine in the event of any incursion by Russia, as the price for their decommissioning all their nuclear weapons in 2016.Yeah. I also know about world wars. They need usually need to involve the whole world and be fought all over the world.
For such a thing to happen would require previously unheard of Russian allies to appear out of nowhere
I agree on the “all hell would break loose”. But a world war? That seems a stretch.
But I am clearly just nitpicking as the term was clearly being used as a shorthand.
Time to get the chocolate starfish yoga technique perfected. You'll be able to put your head between your legs and kiss your arse goodbye.NATO is committed to supporting Ukraine in the event of any incursion by Russia, as the price for their decommissioning all their nuclear weapons in 2016.
Any war involving nuclear superpowers, if, gods forbid it ever starts, is going to be a world war fairly rapidly.
I should add old farts like me will need more than a four minute warning to assume the position.Time to get the chocolate starfish yoga technique perfected. You'll be able to put your head between your legs and kiss your arse goodbye.
Was just going to say something like that, Jabs!Time to get the chocolate starfish yoga technique perfected. You'll be able to put your head between your legs and kiss your arse goodbye.
........... and there she goes again!I don`t understand how `Dame` Cressida Dick got a new contract recently. Every time there is another fiasco on her watch, she appears in front of the camera and blurts out the same `....I have ordered a thorough investigation blah blah`. Totally ineffective and uninspiring to the the public, and to the Met. And don`t get me started on how she gets rewarded by being made a `Dame`. What a farce.
Is now? Is now? Blimey how much time did that take. How many videos using actors playing famous fictional police investigators were needed?! They should have been on this first! You must log in or register to see media

I often get annoyed about what I see or hear about fictional portrayals of the police because they have scope to severely damage public trust and confidence in the police. But I’m not sure that really is possible at the moment
The trouble is, that'll delay Sue Gray's report yet further.
I saw that, and see her and her colleagues as the most inept, incompetent callous and downright corrupt bunch of charlatans led by a philandering self seeking person with a proven history of lies and deceit. The obnoxious Nadine Dorries sneering at the press in Downing Street. Have we ever had such a cultureless, tasteless, and classless Secretary of State for Culture.
I’ve been listening to James O’Brien on LBC this morning, and his phone-in question today is “the worst thing Boris Johnson has ever done”. The list which the callers have come up with is staggering, both in the length and depth of his atrocities, and in the fact that the sheer number of them had driven some of them from my memory.I saw that, and see her and her colleagues as the most inept, incompetent callous and downright corrupt bunch of charlatans led by a philandering self seeking person with a proven history of lies and deceit.
Latest on this list 06-10-2021 many more since. PMQs on now.I’ve been listening to James O’Brien on LBC this morning, and his phone-in question today is “the worst thing Boris Johnson has ever done”. I’m finding his statement that the best way to honour the memory of Jo Cox was to “Get Brexit Done” to be near the top of my list at the moment.
Anyone else keeping an eye on the potential war between Russia and the Ukraine?
Most of the world seems to be sitting back and monitoring the situation and with Ukraine not belonging to NATO, there is no obligation for NATO to get over involved.
The UK, meanwhile, has been supplying Ukraine with anti tank weapons and troops to train the Ukrainians in their use. It’s almost as if we want to be part of anything that might kick off there.
Maybe Johnson is looking for another distraction, even if it does put British lives at risk.
Here’s a link to the views of some people who know more about these things than I do.

I completely agree, but in Putin Russia has the equivalent of a Trump or a Johnson given almost unlimited power, with no public accountability whatsoever. Putin is spinning that threat into an excuse, with the braggadocio of every dictator in history, just as Hitler did with Poland.I've noticed Boris' readiness to do a bit of needless, jingoistic tub thumping. And the readiness of some sections of our press, to join in. But Britain really is a minor player on the world stage, even more so post Brexit. No one outside the UK is listening to that fool, thank God.
What does concern me is the near universal perception in the west, that Russia is the sole aggressor here. If Ukraine is allowed to join NATO, that effectively brings the military reach of the USA even further towards Moscow. Russia has been invaded from the west twice in the last two centuries, once by Napoleon, once by Hitler. I can understand them feeling threatened by NATO.
