Looks like the narcissist is coming close to the end. All that money spaffed up the walls of the Downing Street flat, for barely two years use, as I can’t see it being kept by the next occupants because it looks hideous. More expense for the taxpayers, with the subsidy they get.

I don’t understand why the wait until after tomorrow’s PMQs? Is it because it is when they will all be there?

And is the implication that there are already over 30 letters?

I’m not sure he will lose a no confidence vote though. They seem in love with the big majority he won - regardless of whether his behaviour puts it at risk

Yeah - I don’t understand how he could possibly think this is an acceptable excuse. As mentioned, if true (which is clearly isn’t and he is a serial liar anyway) then it just demonstrates his incompetence

It’s one of the dumbest things I’ve seen.

Utterly hilarious he thinks that excuse can wash.

People missed funerals, births, gave up everything.

Politics is dead to me. I’m buying as much bitcoin as I can and ignoring all of it from now on. Will check the manifestos before each election and ignore mainstream media.

Not at any stage in the game. At least Krugerrands can be melted down to do useful things; Bitcoin mainly allows you to purchase .jpegs and designer drugs, fluctuates wildly in price, and the point at which spending money on it purely as a gamble might have a worthwhile ROI has long since passed. It's a bad store of wealth and a worse 'investment'. Crypto is just Beanie Babies for 30-something tech bros at this point.

I think that is what I was getting at by “stage of the game”. It is now too expensive and volatile to be a good investment

I want to be annoyed with myself for not buying in 2017 (obviously earlier but I really didn’t know about it much before then) as a friend was into it before it went on it’s first surge. But I know I would have sold when it would have doubled (perhaps even when there was a 50% increase). I would not have held it with the hope of it gaining the (I think) 5-10 times value it had since then. Or more - I’m not sure

only way I would is if I had forgotten about it and that would have meant not investing enough to really make a massive different to my life anyway

It was never a good investment. It's just that, at one point, it might have been a worthwhile gamble. Confusing those two things (and I don't mean you, I mean all of the faddish crypto 'investors') is exactly what makes it such a terrible gamble now.

As to “Beanie Babies for 30 something tech bros” - it is also banged on about by libertarian types and guys who complain about the current establishment/society and just assume it will burn down soon and/or inflation will be allowed to go out of control forever (I don’t want to broadly call them all “alt right” as this isn’t true)

There are a few surprising cases of people still supporting it and having it. But many are those who “cashed out” so already made money back, potentially also pulled out a nice gain and are now just playing with “free money”. People getting in now are not likely to get in that position as far as I can see

Absolutely. As I see it in that first para the word “investment” and “gamble” are interchangeable and it doesn’t really change meaning

too expensive / volatile to be a good investment OR gamble

Just thinking about this again. Isn’t it literally straight out of that “narcissist prayer” posted either above or elsewhere

Anyone who accepts that explanation is such an apologist for either him or the party that they are beyond reason. You shouldn’t need to even have to explain to them that as prime minister during a pandemic he should know what the rules are at all times. Every time they changed he was involved and for most of them he was standing there at a press conference FFS

If anything this should lead to more letters because it is admission of staggering, breathtaking incompetence or a complete lack of ability to retain vital information.

I just can’t even…
