I don’t think Billy is a WUM Farked19. He is trying to put his view across. Just because it’s different to yours or others, doesn’t mean he’s on a wind up. I don’t share his patience nor attempted balanced view with this government, but that doesn’t stop me thinking it’s fair for him to counter and question people.

So, how come we have one on Politics, and not Religion?

Im questioning the purpose of the Politics thread btw, for obvious reasons.

Obviously it isn’t a closed shop, as you are a fine example of the fact that there is more than one opinion on things.

My view is that everything that has happened since February 2016 is linked to, and a consequence of, the referendum, so of course it is still valid. If you don’t think it adds any value I’m afraid I disagree.

Well, let's be frank here - im not aligned to any party, but it feels like a Labour knocking shop, and people are pretty strong in their opinions, and try to force crap down your neck if you see it differently. How much actual debate goes on with this thread Chilco - virtually none, it is just a dumping ground for rehashed **** putting down one party over another, out of allegance for said party.

Im sure people have been banned from having different views on here, and others just flatly dont want the hassle it causes by having an alternative view.

That ****ing moron earlier called me a WUM, purely because I have an alternative view - and makes my case in point.

Naturally you are entitled to disagree if it adds value or not, but as a neutral in politics, it really doesn't unless you are a red.

As for believing this thread should be closed - how on earth can it stay open, being based on a belief system, and flatly refusing a religion thread, where both religion and politics are highly emotive subjects that generally result in unbalanced views, and usually highly strung responses?

I am really not sure that is a fair, and balanced view you are taking here, im not looking for a row, just dont understand how the dynamics of this thread in any way relate to an actual debate, rather than a general consensus of sharing one view?

Calling people ****ing morons isn’t very fair or balanced either. You clearly haven’t looked at the basic rules of this forum, as I suggested. One of the rules is that long, back and forth, yes it is, no it isn’t, exchanges are very tedious for those not engaged in them, so we ask that people agree to disagree, rather than falling out with each other and ending up calling each other names. If you have facts to share, then please share them. If you disagree with the interpretation of those facts, please share that as well, but please don’t keep saying the same thing over and over again. (That’s not aimed at you, that’s a general comment.)

As a general rule of life, I have found that people tend to protest about stuff they don’t like, whichever party in power. I, for example, among millions of others, protested and campaigned against Blair’s Iraq War. I can guarantee that if Labour were in power now, there would be other issues that people would feel like writing about on this board, or marching about, or going on strike over. Protest and opposition tends to be against the people in power, and we have had 10 years of the Tories affecting all our lives.

Finally, Post #1 on Page 1 of this thread says that one of the reasons for starting this thread on politics was so that we can keep political point-scoring off other threads, and you must admit that where it does happen, I try and stop it straight away. The other reason was so that those who don’t want to be involved in the debate can easily stay away.

So, calling someone a ****ing moron was deliberate, in that nothing got noted being called a WUM either. They didnt bother replying to my message either - so isnt really a debate either.

I genuinely appreciate your balanced view above, but it isnt really answering my Qs. And yes, you are very good at keeping politics off other thread, and I thank you for that. Those that dont want to debate can stay away, but those that have different views to the norm cant really debate either - this is evidenced by my attempts.

Im going to leave it Chilco, and thanks for engaging with me this afternoon to discuss. All this is happening now, is that someone else will not bother to post on a thread, and it isnt really for debate, more a gentlemans agreement club.

There's plenty of other threads on this forum that are barely commented on , let alone debated on, but you dont seem to have a problem with those , only the "politics" thread. That makes no logical sense going on the points you've mentioned in your last few posts, which suggests it's a personal agenda or belief you have a problem with.

There are other threads that are barely commented on, yes, but i have always stated I came on here to learn more about politics. Therefore i dont beleive it is a personal agenda or belief I have an issue with.

If there is only generally one side to a debate, it isnt really that balanced, in my opinion.
