The Tories will absolutely sell us down the river to the Americans. The NHS will be carved up like meat in a butchers shop and creeping private health care will be the result. Unless the country fights against it we will loose more than any of us can imagine.

You know as well as I do that sooner or later, your party intends to seek a trade agreement with the USA. Part of the price for that will be greater access to the NHS by private US healthcare companies, and higher prices paid for US drugs by the NHS. The intention is to render the NHS as a publicly funded, free at the point of need service, unsustainable. Whether you or any other Tory activist signs up for it is irrelevant, your party has been taken over by the far right, and they’ll do just what they want.

Chatting to someone this morning who nhs just come back from a holiday in the US , only 10 days , Her husband left his medication behind . Anti gout & Blood thinners .

Went ( with a copy of his prescription ) to get enough tablets last the holiday . Gout = $46.00 Blood thinning = $760 .

He said to her he would never knock the NHS again . He's 75 so gets it all for free ……

Oh well can't say I like the election coming pre Christmas. I'll have to make sure my postal vote is in. Disfuckingmayed its happening never mind could worse like having to to play Man City twice in five days after a 9 goal hammering at St Marys.

Yeah, while I don't think the Tories want to do this. We just don't have as much power outside the EU to pick and choose our trade deals.

.

What?? Why haven’t we been told this? Surely it will be better and easy to negotiate these deals? We’re in a strong position right?

*put it in blue, pink, purple, green or any colour you like!

The government are recommending proxy voting rather than postal votes as the postal votes might not get back in time (!):

Thanks Chilcs. There's no one in my ward, Henley on Thames, that can act as my proxy I have to take a chance on a postal vote making it in time. I wonder how many other overseas voters are affected. It's not just EU residence it's worldwide The election shouldn't take place if the time frame is to short to allow all our rights. Where's Gina Miller with a lawyer? Have you got a link to the recommendation?

I can well understand your point of view. I think though you’ll find, if BJ wins the GE, the government will end up being much more towards the centre than many suppose, as the party relies heavily on the resources of more moderate Conservatives. I think I appreciate the reasons why that right now that may not be the picture that you or many others can see at present. With regards to the potential US trade deal, there is not, in my view, the slightest chance of the NHS ending up with the US owning or controlling it or even parts of it. That is a bridge way too far for the majority of the Conservative members.

The Tories have been taken over by entryism in exactly the same manner as Momentum captured Labour. Phillip Hammond gave a very clear explanation of this process on Today on R4 this morning. The ERG are the tail wagging the Tory dog now. We are heading for a race to the bottom economy, ditching worker's rights, animal welfare, food and safety standards etc. this will be a hard right Tory government, more so even than Thatcher.

The people currently in charge of the Conservative Party do not care one iota about your membership, or for their voters. The NHS will be sold down the river at the earliest opportunity.

Boris Johnson, the egomaniac who really thinks he is Winston Churchill.

I am sure there are many who think he is as great as Churchill.

They are both known to their admirers by silly names ie Boris and Winnie.

How long before Johnson appears with a cigar, walking stick and bowler?

The difference between the two is that Churchill saved the nation from a tyrant while Johnson is a tyrant we all need to be saved from.

As you all probably know, my daughter lives in the US. What you don't know is 3 ½ years ago when my first grandson was born, after 3 hours they noticed serious (life threatening) complications. They were insured up to the hilt. The also have personal resources that I can only dream of. In the end my grandson is now perfect after 8 hour surgery 3 hours into his life. Total cost to insurance was over $500,000 and they personally paid an extra $90,000 for the extra tests (which picked up more issues) that the insurance didn't cover. As a UK citizen, if she was here it would have all been covered for free. This has been confirmed by the UK doctors that she has subsequently seen.

Just think about it, a little life that is my world would not be here today if they didn't have the resources. That should NEVER happen in the UK. Ever.

We need to do everything possible to protect our NHS.

Rant over.

Seen some awful stories about US healthcare, being billed almost immediately after a miscarriage etc.

I guess we’re not going to agree on this point of what is likely to happen, though we have the same overall objective, the NHS is not for sale whoever is running this country. Your genuine concern is mine too.

David Cameron was the sort of progressive, centrist Tory I could tolerate if not warm to. Look where his government got us.

And in any case, Boris has withdrawn the whip from all the moderate Tories
