So, has Johnson made some unexpected concessions in order to get the EU to accept the deal, with the expectation that the Commons will reject it, giving him the moral high ground?
You certainly wouldn’t put it past him. Him and Cummings & co. will have been war-gaming every scenario.

High risk. It depends who rejects it and why. If he can't get the ERG behind it then the risk is that the Faragiste bandwagon gathers momentum ( no pun intended) in the run up to an election. This could seriously splinter the Leave vote. Don't forget that Cummings has some bitter enemies on that side too. Having said that judging from Tusk's comment the EU may give it short shrift anyway.

The Johnson, morally intellectually and financially corrupt, high ground isn't for low life.

The Queen’s speech to include photo ID required for elections.
Personally, I don’t have an issue with this, BUT I don’t think it should be rolled out until everyone has been issued with a free ID card, if they don’t already have a driving licence or passport. It says at the end that people can apply for a free ID card from the council, so we will see how much effort is made to advertise this.

There's barely any fraud. In the trails faaaar more people were turned away for forgetting their ID's or w/e than would have been involved in voting fraud. Literally paying tax payer money to make our democracy worse.

whats the point in having a trial if you are going to ignore the result?

And here’s the reason for photo ID for elections.
I didn’t realise so many were without.

They are doing similar to this in the USA. People are turning up to vote for various elections only to be told their vote is no longer valid.

Incidentally, having ID is falling into line with Europe, which has long had it.

So this pointless government, with a majority of -40, is using the excuse of a Queen’s Speech to present their election manifesto. The Tory Party should be billed for the huge cost of it all.

As I said above, I don’t have an issue with this, I just think the government has a duty to ensure that everyone eligible to vote already has, or receives suitable ID prior to the next election/referendum.
Being the Tories, I think they will push to implement it without delay, but hopefully they won’t get it through the house anyway.

This would make British citizens not second class Europeans but third class. Even Serbian citizens have free movement within Shengen countries (which is basically everywhere apart from Ireland and the UK). I will apply for Serbian citizenship if we leave the EU.
