I thought Jezza's speech was much better than expected. He ain't no Tony Benn or Michael Foot but he did nearly an hour, off prompt, with no cock ups and even inspired me a bit. I reckon Boris could manage 3 minutes before insulting half the country. I'm still voting Labour!

Nicola Sturgeon gets a huge amount of abuse from people from all sides. And, even though she says things which I occasionally don't agree with, because she's batting for Scotland first, then maybe the UK, I don't find her the devil incarnate, like I'm supposed to. To me she comes across like a Scottish version of Angela Merkel and, in a politician, that isn't the worst thing in the world.
Would I take her over the buffoon we have as PM at the moment? Well, let's see [my opinion, of course]:
Buffoon - arrogant, deaf, self interested and career minded only, cronyist, elitist. Oh, and let's not forget - just plain stupid.
Sturgeon - feisty, smart, direct, principled, hard working, non-elitist, dare I say, loyal to her cause.
So, would I take Sturgeon as a choice over Buffoon - in a f**king heartbeat. However, let's be blunt here. I could stick a pin in the census and would probably come up with some random person who I would prefer over Buffoon. Because that person would be so awed by the responsibility that they'd actually listen to economic experts and see the data for themselves, rather than doggerel and misplaced self-belief, and so would almost certainly be a better PM.

Proceedings started because an administration whistleblower's statement was revealed, but blocked by the Trump administration. The Senate had a vote to see if they supported the President. They 100% voted against him. Plus another Republican senator came out and suggested that Trump had gone too far. Hence, Nancy Pelosi had just enough bravery to say OK, get after Trump.
About 3 years late, but ok..
Oh, and Buffoon's biggest supporter is ultimately tarnished now.

This is a bit rich coming from someone who was party to undermining the authority of the previoius PM. Why didn´t he get support of the ERG mob for Brexit when he had the chance? It is he and his unruly part of the Conservative party who are responsible for not delivering Brexit when it was in their grasp to deliver.

Time to wake up and smell the coffee. The World has decided it can't wait any longer. Time to change your everyday habits. Time to take planes less or not at all. Time to stop eating meat or cut down [it'll do you good anyhow]. Time to stop jumping in the car when you could bicycle or walk. I'm not being alarmist at all. I think there are some very reasonable Tories, guys like Rory Stewart, Hammond, -the 21 who did not buy into Johnson´s bullying. Add Anna Soubry!!!! If there is a GE any time soon, I fear Johnson will romp home aided by the headlines in the tabloids and the Piers Morgans of this world. What is needed is for all the opposition parties to formulate a party of national unity to include the Tories like Rory Stewart to take on the rump Conservatives. We saw this in the 1930s at a time of national emergency so why shouldn´t it happen again, although the emergency has been inflicted by the rump Tories.
Two-thirds of that Parliamentary party supported May´s deal, so what these guys are doing I do not know but perhaps they are waiting for Johnson to fall on his big fat face.
