I meant to add, depending on the trust involved, but fell off my soapbox before I could add it.
You might know a bit about the running costs of a hospital car park?
All I seem to read is that there are “high costs” involved, but all I seem to think is that once the car park is set up, (hard standing, white lines, ticket machines, barriers and a couple of people sat in an office for when the ticket machine doesn’t work) the costs must be minimal and I can’t for the life of me understand why any trust wouldn’t want to run them completely for themselves, especially when some are taking in millions.
If the NHS trusts received ALL of the car parking money, rather than a percentage of it, I don’t think most people would complain about paying it, so long as it was strictly regulated and capped.
But as Saint Helen points out, parking is free in Wales, and I believe in Scotland too, so surely there is a case for a race discrimination case to be answered?
