I would wage that there were more leavers that thought it wasn't worth it because remain would win than there were remainers that thought it was in the bag.

No you cannot extrapolate those who didn't vote FOR something to mean they didn't want it. That is a fabrication.

And the bus never said "lets spend £350m on the NHS instead" it said "lets fund our NHS instead." The "give the £350m to the NHS was on a poster early on in the campaign which was ditched very early on. It was never on the side of the bus.
Well it's good to hear you don't think the referendum result was an accurate representation.

And I guess you'll be utterly certain (as you always are) that nobody at all put the statements together. Even Jeremy Hunt did.

Lincolnshire (Leave Central) has no motorways. Just potholed single lane roads everywhere. Not wanting the multi lane roads, just the potholes filling. Single lane roads put the frim folk off.

In other news. People vote campaign that never fails to bang on about lies on buses and collusion between campaigns, suddenly tweets out the same message on multiple "totally different" campaign groups, showing a new bus with the message "77% of us didn't want Brexit" which is quite obviously a lie.

Still no answer on the general point. Because there isn't one.

Government borrowing funds itself from returns over time.

Your logic is faulty in the extreme. It is far more likely that people would be complacent about the status quo than for leaving. The Kippers would have wound every waif and stray up to turn out and vote, whereas the Remain campaign was a shambles.

And Boris talked about the £350m on TV at least once.

Yes and he had it on posters at the beginning. but the link that is always spoken about was never on the bus.

Was Jeremy part of the leave campaign? or remain? The argument is about promises made by the campaigns, not what Jeremy Hunt said after the vote had happened.

What reply do you want? We already going back and forth on this one saying each other is wrong. I agree with your presentation of what happens, just not that what happened has or will have the effect that is being portrayed as being the reason (or justification.)

We agree that investment brings returns and it is about weighing that up. No problems there. We disagree in whether it actually will long term etc.

Doesn’t actually matter if was on the bus or not? The point is that the concept of the £350 million PER WEEK for the NHS was very strongly trailed in front of those undecided Brexit, and it was always a complete and utter lie.

oh for goodness sake, no-one knows who would have voted which way if they had actually voted, no-one knows who's changed their mind in the last 2 years, but we do know which way the new 18 year olds will vote. Let's just have another vote and put this bollocks to bed!

I think that only those who voted first time should be allowed to vote. And those that have passed since should have their original vote counted as was. Sounds fairer to me :)

It would be fairer if those who voted for Brexit last time were disenfranchised, as it’s their fault we’re in this mess! <whistle>

The 77% is a complete and utter lie. I disagree about the "trailed" bit. If it was trailed as being what it supposedly meant it was by the remain camp trying to hang it out there all the time as lies. It was the remain camp that made the £350m the first thing they banged on about. No publicity is bad publicity and all that.

Boris, Hunt, and others all trailed the £350m a week. If Remain pointed out the lie they were doing their job.

I said that, but it was pointed out that it can be extended for valid reasons which the EU agree to.

And yet John Major the other day said several times that we should revoke (not extend) article 50..........to buy time. That is something that we can't do. We can revoke but not to buy time..........although of course one would suspect he knew that and just wanted to put the idea out there to be retweeted as gospel.
