Too good for the likes of Johnson and co. Maybe having the word “LIAR” tattooed on their foreheads?

Too quick, and not sufficiently humiliating.

I demand lying to the Queen should be punished with being hanged, emasculated, drawn and quartered at the very least.

    Good point. Fairly decisive though.

Had it on audio in the background and suddenly Dominic Grieve started talking. After just a couple of minutes I realised that this was absolute dynamite, so skipped back. His judgement of his honorable friend, the PM, was spot on. Of course, the interruptions mean that the point is getting spread out and slightly watered down.

Can you provide evidence that he wasn't neutral?

Why do you say he wasn’t neutral? Something you read in a Tory newspaper by any chance? If you watch Bercow in action, as I do an awful lot, you would know he is the champion of the backbencher, and is always open to holding the executive branch to account. When you look at the absolute shambles the governments he has served under have been, you can see how much we need someone with the backbone he has.

The reason he has chosen to step down now are several: first, he promised his wife and family he would; second, the government were planning to break with the tradition of centuries and stand someone against him at the next election; and thirdly, the timing means that this current set of MP’s will elect one of their number to replace him, so he has avoided the uncertainty of waiting until after the general election.

By that very comment you reveal that you don't read about all sides of information. I don't normally pass judgement on people here, but I'm afraid its rather obvious that you swallow right-wing pap. Might I suggest you change your reading ffrom Murdoch and/or Beaverbrook founded publications, and change to media with a reputation for truth and quality?
John Bercow, a former Conservative MP and former front bench government spokesman, who gave up his party affinity, has been an excellent fair speaker. A couple of years ago, because he was making the government tow the parliamentary line, the right wing media tried to smear him. It didn't take. He's still there. If you watched Parliament today, all sides of the House got up on their feet in tribute to him. The only ones who didn't were members of this government and sympathisers. Plenty of backbench Tories got up and praised him. And at the same time, passed judgement on this present administration. Bercow has been way more neutral and parliamentary than any member of any government while he's served as Speaker. They'd love to have his reputation. He's the guy who needs to stay. They need to go.

The early parliamentary general election debate is ongoing in the commons.

Good line from Corbyn just now, actually.

Jo Swinson spoke very well just now, in my opinion. She is quite impressive thus far. Very direct and understandable.
