Just the way I saw it too. Basically we'll either end up an impoverished minor country with a failing infrastructure or as part of a bureaucratic European state. What I can't understand is if leaving would be such a disaster why did Cameron set up a referendum for the unreliable British public to decide on.

Umm,.. to win the General Election?...

It actually flashed through my mind on the day of Jo Cox's assassination that her husband had fallen out of love with his MP wife because he was able to be so objective and brave. But I was wrong. He is just being incredibly brave. There's no doubt he loved his wife and still loves her.

I agree he is brave and of course his pain and tears are genuine however I would question why a man from his background having just suffered as he has decided it was sensible to say what he said knowing that the media will now gloss over the reality that this was a madman and not at all representative in any way of other people who might disagree with what her political views are.

I did read this on another platform though which sort of ties into your part about the love aspect:

the Guardian headline, "Jo Cox's husband says she was killed because of her political views"

How could he know that? In fact he has no more idea than the rest of us. Instead he's using her murder as opportunity to paint 50% of the British people as being politically aligned with a crazed killer. This man served as adviser to Gordon Brown during the time when he was labelling citizens as 'bigots' for expressing concern about immigration. And if you're puzzled as to how he's got over his wife's death and has gone bandstanding for Bremain so quickly .... well just know that he left his £106K job at Save the Children last October following serious allegations of sexual harassment of women co-workers.

We are reliably unreliable thankyou.

It does make me laugh that if we leave he claims the financial system collapses, WW3 breaks out, we all lose our jobs and bus passes, the streets run with blood and my willy drops off. So only a self centered incompetent idiot would chance this decision to the X factor crowd then Dave?

Sounds like a holiday in Ibiza.

Everything about Boris Johnson has convinced me his race is run. After this sorry episode in the UK's history I'd like him to disappear back to the newspapers, where his rantings can be ignored. That's my personal preference. Gove just appals me.
Boris will be fine I think. He will play dumb Boris for a few months and some will forgive him.

Rare outright political statement but I despair of the fact I genuinely believe this country will one day put Boris in Number 10.
Tbf I am worried who takes over running the Tories. Osborne, Boris, May, Hunt etc. All as bad as each other. Our only hope is Labour some how do something...

How about a coalition.? Coalition governments are hated by the politicians, because it means they have to do actual debate, compromise and agreement, and they are much more representative for people. If they were elected by proportional representation then even better.
