Good to see that our European friends recognise the influence, over the Tory party, held by Murdoch.

I hope the right press know who is to blame for her defeat. That´s right the DUP and the Tory ERG group. They have let down their PM, the party, the wishes of 52% of British people. That is who to blame!! No one else. Corbyn and the Labour party are right to oppose it, it is their duty.

Vote on no deal will reject it
EU will reject extension as no credible reason to accept it
    Can May revoke article 50?
Otherwise we leave on the basis that is supported by least number of MPs
    And that’s democracy?

How is it their fault? You wanted a Brexit, you're getting a Brexit. 52% of British people are getting the outcome they voted for.

They didn't ask "Do you only want a Brexit where somehow the the EU kisses your ass and gives you incredibly awesome trade deals with no obligations on our part?" They just asked if you wanted to leave. You voted "Yes." The day you filed Article 50, your fate was sealed. Not that I have all that much sympathy for May, but she was in an unwinnable position. It was always going to go down like this.

The fact that people had unrealistic expectations and could not see the natural consequences of their own vote is their fault. Blaming the government and everyone else's government for awful voting decisions is what got you into this mess in the first place, and until you can recognize that you will just keep spiralling downhill, falling prey to a succession of increasingly bad scoundrels who promise you the world and tell you it's not your fault.

Have fun negotiating with Trump on a trade deal. What could go wrong? He seems like a logical, amenable, trustworthy dude. And if not, surely his supporters can't be as insane and unreasonable. It should easy to come to an agreement. Just as easy as it was to negotiate a fantastic Brexit deal. You all got this. No sweat.

You got me wrong! I am very much a remainer! I was suggesting that the people to blame for this mess, and letting May down are the 75 Hardline Brexit Tories and the DUP but I wonder if the right-wing rags will see it this way? So before jumping down my throat thinking I am a hotheaded Leaver who loves Trump, nothing could be further from the truth. I think I prefer the smell of Mugabe to that of Trump and that takes something.

"52% of British people" NO <52% of those who voted were outers. Remain: 16,141,241 (48.1%) Leave: 17,410,742 (51.9%) Total Electorate: 46,500,001 Turnout: 72.2% = 3.8% for over the barrel. Source https://www.electoralcommission.org...u-referendum/electorate-and-count-information

I'm not saying you love Trump or that you weren't a leaver. I meant "you" as in "the voters."

I'm saying that ultimately this is what people voted for, and they are responsible. Are the politicians ****ty? Sure, but they keep getting elected and many of them were elected precisely because they were ****ty. The hardliners were never going to side with May, because they want to blow up the system. Mostly for their own power and enjoyment, but whatever they've fooled enough people. You can't blame the government as being dysfunctional if the majority of people voted for Brexit, and they are getting what they voted for.

It's the exact same in the US. The more Trump is exposed as a buffoon and a liability, the more they like him because they think if he is annoying the rest of the world he must be on their side. We can blame our Republican party for rolling over for Trump, possibly even strategize a way to vote them out of office. Maybe even defeat Trump himself. But the Trump voters will still exist, they will still feel the same way they do now, probably even more adamantly. Things will not change. The broken politics and lousy policy decisions are just the symptoms. The voters are the cause.

There's no political way out of it. For either of our countries. The far-right is either going to have to come to their senses somehow-- and only they can do this because they certainly won't listen to anyone on the left or center-- or this goes on until the whole country falls.

The only real way out is that at least the crazy people are mostly old and the reasonable people mostly young. So maybe we can manage to keep our **** together until the old people naturally die out. Horrible way to win, but I don't see another way out other than by attrition.
