Done - though I’m on the Tapatalk app and got the beta iOS on my phone so it is acting weirdly - let me know you got it.

I would never let the public vote for me, or politicians or Steven Fry

But no, no, leave voters all knew at the time that they were voting for the hardest of brexits. Apparently.

I’ve just read through the entire European Union Referendum Act 2015, which can be found here:
    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/36/contents/enacted

There is nothing in the Act that requires any government to implement the outcome of the referendum, it merely requires that one be held. Nor is there anything in the Act, or indeed in the question asked in the referendum, about what type of Brexit people were voting on. So all we voted on was an advisory question, a snapshot of how those in the country who could be arsed vaguely felt about stuff.

The simple answer to all the thorny problems about hard borders between Northern Ireland and the Republic, or between Northern Ireland and Great Britain, is surely to quietly forget the whole ****ing stupid idea altogether.

The howls of outrage from the newly empowered headbanger wing of the Conservative party, and their supporters in the press, would be deafening.

But they’d shut up eventually. They’re all full of puff and bluster with sod all substance anyway. Bin the whole thing off Theresa, you know it makes sense.

I couldn't agree with you more! However such a move would fuel fascist civil unrest with the likes of B.J. And R.M. stoking the fires, backed by the right wing press claiming that the 'betrayal " justifies the action.
Brexit represents an economic nightmare. No Brexit could be a different type of nightmare...

    Yeah, that is the worry.

Did Boris ever get that water cannon he was after when he was Mayor of London? Would be ironic if he was at the head of the first rabble it got used on.

I think he bought them. They've been in storage since, there are technical difficulties which mean they can never be used. So bloody bargin then.

It’s a possibility, but don’t forget Boris is primarily interested in Boris, and his part in the Leave campaign and all the sound and fury ever since, was mostly to promote Boris. He was a Remainer until he saw the attention Farage was getting and wanted a piece of it.

The longer this `no deal` farce goes on, the more I keep asking the question why we can`t have another brexit referendum. The response is always that it is the will of the people. The people (not us Sweaties!) made the call on limited information. So now we are a little bit better informed, and the problems are more evident, then I see good grounds for it. Our PM and her inept government couldn`t negotiate a, ahem, BJ down Derby Road.

I am no admirer of BJ or JRM, but I do not believe they are fascist. Just deluded!! Howeer, I agree with you that publications like the Epxress are verging on what you alluded to.

Sadiq Khan put them up for sale in 2014. Are they still in storage? Has the market for used water cannons dried up? Or are we just not selling to Iran or Turkey anymore.

Apparently there are conditions attached to their resale which make them, er, unsalable. Nice one Boris.
