They will do the usual like the Sports Direct thing, like everything else that involves money and profits. They will do a couple of "show trials" and pretend that the matter has been dealt with. A sacrificial lamb to protect the rest. There is no way they are going to take on all the dirty Russian money. They were quite happy for Russians to bring it here in the first place and they don't care if the current owners of that money are pro or ant Putin. A lot of the "anti-Putin" ones are the worst offenders in terms of how they got that money.

My wife does take offence if anyone refers to her by my name, as she has always been known by her maiden name. Can’t see a problem with it, and I’ve completely lost track of who you’re actually upset by Imps. Nothing wrong with what Bercow said either.
 
I don’t think it’s sexist at all. The Conservatives refer to her that way with the intent of drawing attention to her great personal wealth plus certain things she’s done that are somewhat hypocritical for a socialist. Buying property from a housing association as an investment, that sort of thing.

I read the transcript of it. First time listening to it but my opinion is the same. The reason he uses that name (And Theresa) is because hr wants to paint the picture that she is some noble woman who is out of touch with common society. That the Labour front bench think they are right because they are filled with learned nobles.

Think of the image that come to mind if you think of a learned lady baroness. Not exactly positive is it? That's basically what they are after. And when you think about it it's actually an attempt at class discrimination. Which is pretty hypocritical coming from Boris Johnson.

Either way what bercow calling it out was the right thing to do. Has nothing to do with politics. Stick to the issues.

Bercow made a big thing of it being sexist, despite the same offence not being sexist when he "told off" Theresa May. And this coming from someone who is trying to exempt himself from the investigation into bullying despite the allegations (<unproven so just allegations) of him bullying women.

He is quite right to pull Boris (and Theresa) up for not following protocol and referring directly to a person rather than "the honourable member" etc.

You already know who I am upset with. Mainly those that continually bang on about things, taking offence because it will score points rather than because they are offended etc. Corbyn calls Thornberry - ET. Wonder if she gets offended by that. Probably the real ET is the one feeling offended there ;)

So a newspaper printed by biased writers working for a group with it's own political affiliation. Sounds like a normal newspaper to me :emoticon-0110-tongu.

Seriously though it does annoy me, I had quite a bit of that during the election. Had one from UKIP pretending to be from the police iirc talking about security.

Edit: Also had a leaflet from conservatives pretending to be from Labour. Labour bashing made it obvious which is probably why they thought it was fine. Was fun seeing the con tag at the end in red though.

I´d like to give Boris a break, a permanent break. Dont you think he is totally out of his depth as Foreign Secretary? Mind you, most of Theresa May´s cabinet and ministers are. Last decent batch of ministers we had, were in the Blair years. What great statesmen he had to call on - Charles Clarke, David Blunkett, Mo Mowlam, Gordon Brown, Peter Mandelson, Robin Cook, David Milliband, Harriet Harman and many others too numerous to mention.
