And is half Scottish. But beyond golf, shortbread, and tartan, I doubt he is over familiar with Caledonian culture.

That’s very clever. I hope that’s sung a lot during the Trumpster’s UK visit.

No, I like it that the US president puts his country first, its a shame that Britain can not find someone that puts a priority on the British people. What do you mean by trumps agenda? its one and the same with the US agenda

His agenda is to stay in power. Doesn't give a **** about his country and aims to control the media so the people don't realise that. I've said it many times before but his leadership style is the same as Kim Jong Un and North Korea, based around propaganda and nationalism as a form of population control. Thats why when you hear them speak to each other they sound exactly the same.

Pulling out of the TIPP for starters!! Trump has not put the US first. I cannot believe anyone here is supporting the idiot for what he has done during the first 12 months of his administration. Taking the US out of the Paris Treaty, undoing previous trade agreements, reversing the measures that Obama had agreed with Iran, cutting corporation tax for the big companies in the absurd belief they will invest in jobs. As for the UK, we are part of a 28 nation entity, which I think is great. Free movement of people, money, services and goods. I do not know what you mean by putting a priority on British people when we still have Free Health treatment at the point of delivery, social security, universal education, although some of the services have been eroded by successive Governments. Perhaps we need the return of New Labour and Chuka as the PM to restore the country's reputation.

Apart from your last sentence, which is surely a joke, I agree with every word.

Semi!! I would be for Corbyn if he would ditch Brexit. I do think he should allow his MPs freedom to vote whatever way they like on the Brexit bill rather than dictate to them.

Yes, fair comment. I think he’ll probably do that when the Brexit deal is presented to Parliament in all its mashed-up horror, and the Tories will have lost the DUP support by then anyway.

I hope you are right. Let's hope the Tories implode and Johnson launches a bid to lead the party leading to ''civil war'' within its ranks. It is after all two parties with a large UKIP element with MPs like Royston Smith and Suella Fernandes, and more traditional Tories sitting uncomfortably alongside each other.

maybe so ,I just think that you have to judge a president over the 4 year or 8 year period, not just throw your toys when he sends out a dumb tweet at 3 am. Obama is treated like a demi god but basically achieved nothing in his 8 years with a stagnant economy,I know that the Republicans had control in the senates, which is something that would piss me off if I was an American. The people voted for Obama so he should be given a free rein to implement the policies that the people voted for, the same for Trump, all of obamas trade deals have been scraped, the people in America that needed the help were not getting it, and people realised that the lying witch Clinton would have added to the mess. trump seems to have started off to a solid start, and if he can get his wall and the economy stays the same will be nailed on for another 4 years ( but I think he will not run, if the economy is doing well).

Yeah, I disagree with all of that especially about giving leaders free reign. Very thankful we are at an age where in most modern countries there are democratic processes in place to stop that happening.

But that is what democracy is, voting for a party and then the winning party carrying out the promises made to the people during the election. The politicians spend all their time infighting, lining their pockets and acting like kids. How many leaders have delivered all that they promised in the elections. Maybe its just me, but if people are elected after promising certain things, they should be made to keep those promises

Trump brings shame on his country. He is ignorant, bombastic, egotistical, treats anyone who disagrees with him with contempt, is without grace, dignity or humilty. In short, he embodies all of America's worst qualities.

America will survive Trump because she has other, far nobler qualities, many of which have been written into her constitution. But his legacy will be poison, for generations. For a country that has always looked forwards, this guy has set them back 200 years, deliberately exploiting and excacerbating the unhealed racial traumas of the antebellum south.

America first? My arse; this guy is Trump first, last, and only. He's basically America's Nero, though the US Republic will hopefully turn out to be more robust than Rome's ultimately was.
