Best keep my head down. Been calling London a ****hole for years and I would think a few times within this thread. I will have to learn not to use that term anymore to avoid trouble.

Although Grimsby is still s ****hole, London is just a place where faeces is disposed of.

Went to Boston yesterday to get some shopping after my eldest had a game 5 miles from there. Not been since the late nineties but it hasn;t changed. One of the greyest dullest places around. Reminds me of 80s Britain.

My (foreign) wife said after 10 minutes of walking through the town centre "Are there no English living here?" Quite literally are no English voices on the streets of Boston.

In July, Carillion issue a “profit warning” and receive a massive contract from the government.
In September, Carillion issue a second “profit warning” and receive a second massive contract from the government.
Could it have anything to do with Carillion’s chairman having previously been an adviser to David Cameron?

I have been saying this for ages. Blair's PFI expansion that created vast billion dollar companies almost wholly dependent on government contracts for doing what government should have been doing itself (at a lower interest rate to boot.)

Oh well, at least all that money has meant we have more schools, hospitals and prisons. Otherwise we might be struggling to cope with the numbers!!!

Hopefully this will end the whole "legal corruption" of siphoning public funds into companies to do government work. The end of PFI (at the scale it has been used) at last.

I absolutely agree. PFI was a Blairite scandal right from the start and sucked billions out of the public sector.

I can’t believe that the people at the top of the Carillion food chain are still drawing a salary and will continue to do so for several more months.

The following line from the write up indicates, to me, that they were aware of problems in 2016, hence taking the action they did to protect themselves.

“They changed the wording of its pay policy in 2016 to make it harder for investors to claw back any cash paid out if it ran into trouble.”

In another piece, it is stated that the role of the Whitehall official, responsible for overseeing Carillion’s finances, was vacant during the period August- November, 2016, at a crucial time. Neglect or deliberate?

Jamie Oliver`s resautant in Aberdeen has closed - he blamed `difficult trading conditions following Brexit`. Every other resaurant in town is still doing business. No Jamie, you greedy prick, it shut because he food was $hit.

I thought he did really well, read his prepared speech, did not offend anyone and pushed the u.s agenda

Nice to know the idiot can read!! Now he apologises for not knowing who "Britain First" were. Isn't that rather a dumb thing to say? When you say pushed the "US agenda," don't you mean "Trump's agenda?"

He probably doesn't know what Britain is tbf.

I mean, he probably has a vague idea about some misty island full of castles and princesses and ****, but I doubt he's ever heard of the UK.
