All of it. All of the control. Of everything. Trade deals with Sri Lanka and Fiji. Ten bob in every pocket. Bobbies on the beat in English villages. Pubs where you can get a nice warm pint of beer. Austin Sevens made by British workers for British people. No more Johnny Foreigners working here, either. Loads of jobs for loads of British workers. We'll have no trouble here. Bash the Jerry on the nose, dust off the old cane and give the Frenchies a damn good thrashing.

All free. In fact, we'll all be better off. Massively so. Think how many Austin Allegros those Australians will need.

Vin

Tin hats on and hunker down. Drumpf has just spoken.

I'm beginning to understand Donald The Great's strategy. Just do exactly the opposite to every other theory that has kept the world safe since the second world war. It'll either work and change the thinking of the world and bring about world peace or we'll all die in the most hideous apolaclyptic end to the human race.

The A15 is how roads should be :) (I stayed in Louth a couple of weeks back)

Spent sometime on the A15 over the weekend as Mrs and I were at the Folk Festival in Skegness, she's into photography in a big way so we spent some time exploring there and back.

I must admit the trip back was impressive early Monday morning. The 'SuperMoon' setting on one side while the Sun rose on t'other was stunning though in did make me appreciate the rather more 'bumpy' landscape we have in Hampshire/Dorset.

On a more contentious note it finally confirmed to me that I rather like wind farms. They rather added to the drama of the landscape and, as long as there was no intrusive noise, I'd be happy to have them sited near me.

I like windfarms too, and certainly don't think they spoil a landscape.

Thought I was in the minority in this opinion! I live quite close to ones. Usually people object to them being nearby but I like them

Strange isn't it that folks will put up with (unless in full-on NIMBY mode) Oil Refineries and Sewage Works as a requirement for modern life, but seem to get far more emotive over the wind farms. Or maybe it's another myth driven by a vocal opposition. Anyway, in a country going down the Fracking route with such jovial reckless abandon it's hard to see sense in some of the bad press wind farms get.

I don't mind wind turbines in the right place. If you've ever driven up to Scotland there are loads. I would however be very annoyed if they put them up in the wilds of the Highlands and spoilt that beautiful scenery. Outstanding natural areas should be left unspoilt by man.

I take your point, but would add that the world is an area of outstanding beauty, that humans have tried hard to spoil. It seems to me that the development of sustainable green energy of which wind is a major contributor along with solar and tidal is crucial or the areas of outstanding beauty will disappear anyway along with the human race.

Its the main problem with wind farms, to be effective they have to well spaced or the wind flow is hampered. everyone likes the idea of wind farms, but just near them, and not in areas of natural beauty. I can see the Scots putting up some wind farms on a few uninhabited islands, the problem then is that the windmills kill a lot of birds, off shore windmills have the same problem
