I hope the protesters have a lovely walk and go home feeling like they changed the world.
And shut up for a bit.
If they accidentally walk into the Thames and drown, that wouldn’t be altogether a terrible thing.

Yes, I'm sure all of the 150,000+ people in attendance were aggressive, racist, far-right nationalists that were just out looking for a fight
Just like all those who voted Brexit were also racist.
If you can't see why so many people are unhappy and in attendance, and instead just label them all as uneducated scumbags that you look down on, then you are part of the problem.

That was quite polite for you ArchersIf you think a march through London organised by Tommy Robinson and addressed via satellite by Elon Musk, isn’t a gathering of thugs and racists, you’re incredibly naive.

People aren't protesting because of their love for Tommy Robinson. Some of them will be of course, but he has been trying this sort of thing for years and generally has been ignored by the masses. The extra 140,000 protesters today haven't suddenly fallen in love with Tommy Robinson. If you think a march through London organised by Tommy Robinson and addressed via satellite by Elon Musk, isn’t a gathering of thugs and racists, you’re incredibly naive.
You missed a word out.Feeling totally Zen about this one.
Just so long as we beat those fish fiddling ****s![]()
I think that is where I disagree. The majority out yesterday will have been because they are pissed off that their concerns on immigration have been ignored by both major political parties for the past 15 years.Generally I agree with the idea that we shouldn't just write off others, I know not all those that want to debate immigration (as an example) are necessarily on the far right or racist, there are reasonable concerns to have.
But in this instance they came out to support Tommy Robinson, there is no redeeming that.
I disagree, I think more and more people are feeling emboldened. In the past people didn’t want to be associated with TR out of being judged, but a lot of these people now wear it as a badge of honour.People aren't protesting because of their love for Tommy Robinson. This whole idea that we lump all people pissed off about immigration, or indeed the state of the country as a whole (which many attending yesterday will have been), as mindless thugs, just alienates them and pushes them further away.
It's similar to how most brits and Democrats view people that vote for or support Trump. Many voted for Trump because of sheer frustration of being failed by countless other politicians - yet they turn on the TV to see idiots like Tom Hanks (and the left in general) mocking anyone that could even contemplate voting for Trump. All it does is cause an even bigger divide.

Been saying this a few days ago. We're sleepwalking into something far worse by ignoring and patronising people.
I know someone who went to the morning part of the march (which I was really quite surprised about) - she said that like here, there were a lot of people there that didn't want the association with the likes of Robinson etc, but wanted the government to take some kind of action (much like the Swedish government, who have acted within ECHR rules, and for the first time last year actually had net emigration as a result, having been in a very similar situation to us previously). She walked to Whitehall to make the point, then came home because she didn't want to be there for the Robinson stuff. Apparently quite a few people did the same.
The trouble is, when you have the likes of Robinson, Hopkins, Fox and Musk on one side, then the other side is being led by Diane Abbott, it's very difficult as a relatively normal person to understand quite where you fit in.
I tend to agree and I sit right in the middle of those people. Can’t stand Robinson, Hopkins, Fox and Musk. Abbot just lives in a different world.
However, immigration isn’t the main cause of our issues in my opinion. Government underfunding to services for over a decade and cost of living increase has just put pain to a lot of peoples lives. I think for a long time we as a population have been in a fortunate place of living standards. We are not in a as fortunate position these days, and you can get use to things, like an entitlement. People want to blame something / someone, and social media helps find a culprit.
