Of course Russian aggression is Russia's fault. Whose saying it isn't? But if you are telling your opposition that if X is crossed there will be retaliation and once they do cross X nothing is done.........Then the madman has seen your play is meaningless.

Let be honest here. talk of 3 years is nonsense. This war started in 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea with not a lot more than a wimper of discontent from Europe or the US! Any peace deal is not going to get the Crimea nor the other "now annexed" areas back. If the only acceptable result is the whole of the Ukraine's territory to be restored then we are at war. 10 years late but we are already at war. No negotiations are gonna work on that part.

This is a "invade Poland and we are at war" moment!

And yes Trump has no idea how to solve that one in his deals.

If Ukraine territory is manditory then we should prepare for war now!

Maybe, but my point is that it is a narrative of ‘no free speech’ that you are getting sucked into which is not really true. And the main lie is that we are failing in someway for not having the American style free speech, which is abhorrent.

It is a question of how much they get back. Trump seemed to want to give it all. That is not acceptable. And telling Ukraine they have lost, when Russia is dying a death financially, undermines their ability to get that land back.

Yeah agree about Crimea. But if Russia want to keep the land they stole, then the economic sanctions against them can stay in place forever.

I think when the people starve, they lose respect for their leaders. And they will start to starve. I think Russia is up to 40% gdp on the war now. That is unsustainable.

Well if that is the case we wait it out another 3 years then and suck up the deaths to Ukrainians. Hopefully they are happy with that sacrifice.

The one thing Zelenskyy did get wrong yesterday - he should have had a translator in there. That would have slowed/calmed the dialogue, given time to think, and his English isn't quite good enough to cope with that level of verbal pressure.

Which is why the deal is all about US having "an interest" in property within the Ukraine so that by default they are not there as NATO, they are there to protect US property.

And once Trump has gone (don't worry he will be gone in a few years) that "US interest" will remain.
