See, this is why I posted on the off topic thread when the verdict came in. It shouldn't be political in any way. It was a police officer doing his job, which sadly resulted in a young man losing his life. But that young man got himself mixed up, for whatever reason, in criminal activity and didn't surrender when surrounded by armed officers, resulting in tragic consequences.
If he had been walking past and happened to scream that, then kept going, I get you. But he was part of an angry mob that were going to burn down a hotel holding immigrants. And his specific scream - that the police should stop protecting this group of people from being murdered- doesn’t seem like something we need in our society.
Just out of curiosity, would you feel same way about the sentence if one of your children had been staying in the hotel this man so vehemently didn’t want protected from murderous arsonists?
So you are apparently fine with asylum seekers who have just arrived in the country being regarded as proxies for grooming gangs simply because they have brown faces?
When you stand outside someone’s home - demanding the police leave so you can comit violence - and attempt to burn that home down with people inside, you are a different beast to a protestor.
