Fair play for that.

I have a problem with this whole sorry episode. IMO there is a serious concern across the country with regard to Muslims. If you don't want to hear that from me, read what LTL said a few days back. He covers it pretty well I think.
People have seen that the police and politicians are unwilling/afraid to confront this problem and a lot of non Muslims are frustrated, angry and in some cases frightened for their lives. The so called "two tier policing" is real and Starmer made a huge mistake in not mentioning the Leeds riots only two weeks previously. He would have been better off saying that any rioting from any group would feel the full force of the law. He said he would make sure the Muslim community would be kept safe but he hasn't given those assurances to the Jewish population. What he has done is just confirm the double standards at work.
With that in mind I'm not against full on protests so on one hand I would normally be happy to see people out on the streets protesting. But the problem I mentioned is that the people carrying the message are rioting and are racists. That of course is not their only message and genuine concerns are being lost in the hate.

Here is something you are unlikely to see on the BBC, a labour councillor no less. There are some who have chosen to defend Muslims out on the streets with machetes but advocating slitting peoples throats is a bit of a jump from protecting their property or mosques. Then there are the "peace protesters" around him cheering and clapping.

Finally, there are a number of posters here who have partners who are not white and of course one of our more popular posters in @thereisonlyoneno7. I would guess at this moment you are all feeling very uncomfortable and I'm sorry you are experiencing this. My hope for you is that this country will return to it's normally peaceful self soon.

Love trumps hate eh?

The left hate the right waaayyy more than they hate racism and discrimination. Good to see that speech being clapped by someone in an amnesty international bib. Unbelievable

Absolutely. People turn out and burn effigies of middle of the road right wingers. We behead the children of people at private school. We are already eating the Eloi as we descend into our true Morlock form. We self-flagellate whenever we find ourselves paying our rent in order to overcome our gross obeisance to our overlords. We regularly form posses to round up another Tory and hang him from our tree. We usually wander past racist people as they are of our leftie tribe, unless we see then wearing blue in which case we gaslight them and then set them alight.

The left is terrifying. Grrr.

Have you delved into the full catalogue of things Mr Kearse has said? Paragon of virtue he most certainly is not. Whilst what the councillor said was horrible and they have rightfully been punished for it the pearl clutching from someone of his ilk is not something I can really take seriously

Musk is a bit of an Ox.
"Elon Musk shared a fake Telegraph article claiming Keir Starmer was considering sending far-right rioters to “emergency detainment camps” in the Falklands."
https://www.theguardian.com/technol...faked-telegraph-story-rioters-falklands-camps

For those without sandals, kaftans and beards,
"Amid an ongoing feud with the British government about unrest on the country's streets, the billionaire X owner boosted, and then deleted, an entirely-manufactured news headline Thursday pushed by a far-right political party.

Musk shared a fake headline — purporting to be from the Telegraph newspaper — that said U.K. PM Keir Starmer is "considering building 'emergency detainment camps' on the Falkland Islands" to house far-right rioters arrested in the country's round of race riots."

Had a quick look at that. It appears to be directed at the violent rioters fascists and nazis, credit to the Labour for suspending him immediately and the police are investigating.

Seen from overseas police and local community action against the rioters was good in the face of the expected escalation. Can but hope it's an end to the current problem, time will tell.

He’s been arrested now. So fair play!

The left are dangerous because their ideology allows them to believe that they are the “good guys”

This means they can justify almost any behaviour to themselves. For example a Labour councillor calling for people’s throats to be cut.

Lots of these anti racism counter marches released material in advance that was virulently antisemitic. There are hateful actors on both sides.

Hmm I can't speak for the anti-semitism, certainly nothing I saw or heard that would suggest any form of racism.

There were however scores of young people in full balaclavas clearly there for a fight, throwing beer cans, eggs and filming themselves provoking violence. Significantly more than the EDL protestors in fact. Was merely pointing out that the narrative being churned may not reflect the state of play, but that's hardly surprising or new.

A sane government would pass a law banning any flags waved in the country except for British and English flags.

This should instantly unite the country and stop the perception of favourites.

Denmark did this recently and it’s a great idea. If you’re here, you should integrate, not bring your problems with you

As someone who spent some time in NI that's probably not the best call mate.....

Besides, I've got a jolly roger flag I'm very fond of, and I've not totally given up on the idea of being a pirate captain, even if I am knocking on a bit.

Touché. Didn’t think about that. I can see why that would be an awful idea there <laugh>

I am just trying to think of ways that we can unite everyone.

A massive part of the unrest is that we are all so divided. I think a lot of people especially in the North feel like they are losing their country and have no voice. Starmer is only making this worse.

Whether it was posted by Leo Kearse or Leon Trotsky it's not really that important. Kearse has added his own comments (which can be ignored) but the real focal point is the video clip which as far as I know Kearse hasn't altered.

Just ****ing imagine if a reform candidate had said he wanted to slit the throats of immigrants <laugh><laugh>

It would be front page news of every paper and Keir Starmer would be dribbling to condemn it.

Because it’s labour.. he will be suspended and it will be brushed under the rug. Even though it’s way worse than anyone on the right has ever said.

Of course Farage is the evil, facist one for saying he wants to stop wasting taxpayers money on hotels full of people <doh><doh><doh>

I agree that all forms of violence should be punished equally regardless of perpertrator.

But let's not lose sight that Farage is major component of the fan behind the flames in the unrest seen over the past week.

Farage is exactly the same as some of the people you hate but wearing a different teams kit, your teams.

Farage is being condemned for repeating the lies told by Human Trafficker Boy and Waxy Lemon.

No, no they wouldn't. They would just say it was an emotional comment and all the people cheering it were just taking it as a metaphor for putting your arm around an immigrant.

Kier would say: What's that Reform candidate like eh? Says he wants to slit the throats of immigrants, what a character. He just got carried away in the excitement, a bit of fun really, no harm done. Best to let it whither away. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Erm, learn to read, buddy.

“The throat cutting comment is just another lunatic emotional comment from someone rightly fired for it”.

You need help. Go cry yourself to sleep over the unfairness of it all. Waaaa waaa.

Pathetic.
