I am not sure why you think that would weaken the tories grip on the country.........I may be wrong but when this was suggested a while ago Im sure they said it make it more likely for the tories to rule the country. I cant give you a reason but Im sure that was said at the time.

I don't think ANY party with sort this current of majority will allow PR . They are all power mad .
I want PR , but IMHO it won't happen when a GOVT with a huge majority is in place .

In this instance I don't think it would . This has been a very unique situation IMHO .
I mean even Derek Skinner lost his seat .

Yep I am prepared to admit defeat too. Not 100% happy about it, but Brexit is happening and Boris is here for 5 years. Let's see what he does. I think I know how this is going to end, but I won't beat myself up over it as I cannot control any of it. We had a choice last night and it has been done.

I had to chuckle at Emily Maitlis' obvious embarrassment at her misidentification of a No10 flunky as Sajid Javid opening the car door for Boris. Probably an easy mistake to make given the Tories attitude to ethnic minorities. Sajid will probably get a job serving the drinks at Chequers.

I'm really not sure the labour party has a future. I can see it splitting again into the socialists and maybe another new more central labour?
